Thanks for that info ElJay, that's exactly what I wanted to know. And sorry to hear about your Börböl, I hope she isn't in too much pain!

Your welcome. And no, she doesn't seem to be in too much obvious pain. She's on both injectable and oral joint supplements and gets an occasional pain med when I think she may need it. But she has a lot of heart and keeps on going no matter what. She went on a 6 hour hike with me two weeks ago and did just fine. she holds up well to walk/runs and tug-o-war and wrestling games still. but she has definitely slowed down a bit in the last year. i figure she'll still be kicking strong for a while :)

Our dogs are Working Dogs in Sport. Dogs that compete in High Jump or Weight Pulling are X-Rayed first before they go on competitions. After very good results at the vet and after that on shows they are worth breeding.

it didnt fly over my head TOO much, i just agree that some of them are full of crap when they believe it, but tested or not theyd still do it is what im getting at. Some people just dont give a crap and will go for looks whether it kills their stock or not.

Either way, all in all i completely agree

My foundation female Cypress is certified to have "Good" quality hips from OFA. I had it done because I wanted to. This breed stands on its own four paws with out all kinds of testing.:)

thats what i believe in. I wont do to much testing on every dog i have but the foundation dogs need to be healthy and throw healthy. If so i think u can trust the line for a few generations

With the APBT's high threshold for pain and strong musculature, hip dysplasia can remain hidden for years. I do firmly believe there is way less dysplasia in gameline dogs than there are show/UKC lines, which are over 20% dysplastic. There haven't been too many game dogs x-rayed, but most of them that were had hips rated good or excellent. I x-ray my dogs because I work them, and I would x-ray anything I wanted to breed. I also have their hearts checked by a cardiologist.
