Louisana always has a nice show and the pulls attract some good competition. I judged the Nationals there one year. The people that put the show on are good folkes also.

We are having a Pull here in Middle Tennessee in June. Haven't competed in years but am putting some thought into it. From what I understand, there isn't a whole lot of competion in the area.

Back in the early 80s when I was in Alaska, I used a Pit in a weight pull competition against a whole bunch of huskys and wolf cross dogs (sled dogs) and kicked the shit out of them so bad they banned me from pulling.

I had a good pull dog thatw as taken by the ex in a divorce. I now have a 2 month old in training. He is pulling 2 cinder blocks on a sled right now wih custom equipment. I figure if i start him early enough he'll pull better than the last one I had.

Be careful you don't over work that young pup. His muscles will be much easier than an adult to tear from overworking. Good luck with him...

I was thinking of doing some pulling with one of my dogs but he's getting old and now I'm thinking of retiring him. I was trying to start a club down here to do some fun pulls and such but i stil working on it.

  17. Hi gator, my name is Manuel I'm competing in weightpull in the A.D.B.A. I just got started in it and it very interesting. Why did you get out of pulling?

The biggest reason was because I went thru some changes that caused me to get away from the mutts for a couple of years, but all that is straightened out now and just might give it another try.
