There are many...it's all in who you know...if you don't know now, chances are you never will.

Give me a break. On the internet there is no shortage of people that pretend to know some "big timers" but can't help others. Typically, I have found these people to be posers trying to impress when in reality they typically don't know jack. I am not saying you are, but I have always been willing to help others, and most 'ol timers' will do so as well...that is if the person approaches them appropriately and there is nothing wrong with the question above.

Well times have changed and people just don't go passing out others information and embracing any and everyone....most old-timer's don't even use the internet...it's just recently became a huge congregation of internet dogmen and some real dogmen and those up and coming.....I don't know you from the man down the street so why would I recommend you to someone I know and based off what merit would I be recommending you off of anyway? Just because you asked or are on this site? Doesn't work that way....if you knew me, you'd know who I know and those that you are trying to get to know. Point is if you're not in that circle and aren't recommended or introduced to that 'someone' you're trying to meet your chances are slim.

Also just to add there are a lot of old timer's in the midwest overall not just IL...your question is very general, nobody is gonna just start dropping names and contact info, and I think that's just common curiosity and respect.

    Simple...here is why.

    1. You don't call up the "dogman" and recommend he talk to someone seeking help.

    2. Instead, you tell the guy seeking help that he should TRY to get into contact with "this" dogman or "that" dogman.

    3. Then when "rookie" contacts "dogman" the dogman can decide for himself if he wants to help them.

It is called word of mouth. Something "old timers" have always lived by.

I think the time for word of mouth has come and gone, I sure woudnt appreciate anybody giving my name out and I dont even do anything with my own, never mind somebody that might

And, you can always keep a recommendation private as well.

My point is, there is no need to be rude to someone looking for help...and that is the way I took your post. And, as I said earlier, most of the time people on the internet don't know near as much in real life as they pretend to in this virtual world...which I believe is why the vast majority of internet experts that pretend to be "connected" or "knowledgeable" are almost never able to really help someone. I have seen it many times.

Theres no point in asking online at all but if I was in your shoes ad reallyiterted I would be a couple of history books based on dog men (believe it or not they have one book like that.) Research as much as I can.

    KBK,

A name is just a name, not an accusation.

    All about Pits,

Not that it matters, but IMO, your reply is a much more appropriate answer should one have a concern about making contact referrals. At least you give him something to work with.

  15. kinda funny people get all riled up...lol..i wasnt asking for any recomendation or contacts or anything in detail..if you dumb asses would read more carefully i said ol school and listed some really old dogmen that are dead.. basically just tryin to talk dogs and ol school breeders.. alot of people on here try to judge people and say oh there a newbie or stupid shit like that when they have no idea who they are talking too in reality... i keep most of all my personal stuff behind closed screens also... just like to talk dogs , ol school breedings and such everyone needs to get off their high horses because people will only tell you so much and they may be twice the dogman that you are . way to many internet dogmen who claim they know it all

  16. yeah and also MR. ROBINSON you have the right frame of mind.
