Discussion in 'Sports & Activities' started by Pluto's Princess, Jan 19, 2005.

  1. my male pup is eight months, and so far he is a monster. he just hit 60 pounds and keeps growing. i was wondering if there is a conditioning program i could start him on that is not too stressfull on his bones. no weights- any ideas?

Do you have any pics of this big boy? conditioning wise, a lot of walking, running, and swimming, that's not hard on a pup, but don't start weight until he's at least a year old...you can also let him drag around/play with a small tire to build front and neck, but he's a pup, don't do to much, feed him high quality dog food and spoil him w/lots of love!

  3. he is very spoiled! i agree about the weights, that's why i was looking for an alternative. i was looking for more of a regiment, you know? like how much running, walking, swimming. more like a rutine.

at 4 months you really dont need no rutine just walk and play with him and thats all and dont start no weights till 2 yrs

walking is great as it puts the least stress on growing bones & joints. I prefer long walks to runs as this puts a lot of stress on the joints, but if you limit him to short 3/4 mile easy jogs a few times a week he will be ok.

  6. thank you guys!
