I know exactly where your coming from sunbeam, now i'm not saying apollo or tinker2 or tara achieved as much as ch.molly or ch.duke and i know you must know i'me limited as to how much i can say about said dogs on here but i can only assure you these were all "respectable" dogs, as the dogs that were'nt right i did'nt keep, let alone breed from , most of which went to pet homes and lets be honest how many staffords do you know that achieved there status of those staffys, let alone have close up in your pedigree, but I can say more than a lot of dog owners that i KNOW exactly what the first 3 generations have done as i bred them and it certainly doesent hurt to have such great dogs going back through your ped. does it.
Getting back to your original point, i agree it doesent matter what you've got far back if your close up dogs are crap.
There is also the jealousy thing in dogs, were one man does'nt like another for what ever reason and just goes out to destroy him to everyone he meets, i've met these on more than one occasion, also the kennel blind dog man, he can only see his own line and every one elses is crap, but the way i did it was over 20 years with a lot of trial and error.
My opinion is best to best and trying to keep it in a good line until an out cross is required and then make sure it is a good outcross that will click well with your own line, with something like a past common ancestry, like northford psycho and o'flynn, common ancestry being geronimo.
Hope i have cleared things up a bit,
    cheers pal

oh i remember him well with his line bred stormer dogs and telling how good that blade dog was, take it from me he was good at the telling but not too keen on the proving.
I'm sure his dog was a similar weight to Apollo? in the weight pulling i mean......

  4. @apollo
the reason i asked was i have a friend who used to work alongside him i also met him once or twice. he did prefer the sporting lines and bred for them instead of k.c
i remember his brother been ousted from the boys for turning canary when the law infiltrated a (*SHOW*). HE went to usa but is back now apparantly!

To be fair to shaun, he never did any harm to me and was always respectful, but i just did'nt understand where he was getting the idea his dogs were line bred on stormer and then using the fact that stormer beat psycho as a way of stating how good his dogs were.
But on a plus side i liked his wife, she was a cracking girl. :)

  6. shes now passed away R.I.P.

Shaun then moved to usa where he married again. but for some reason he was expelled from usa(dont no why) and at this time hes trying to get back there. being married to a american girl should help his cause. if i remember right his wifes name was cath,i could be wrong though as all this was a long time ago. everyone had nothing but good words to say about her! i own a gym and shauns right hand man trains here ill get the right info when i see him ,should be tgis friday.

  10. i thought bullit was shauns (may be wrong again)
either way he blew everyone up when a ring got bust he was then ousted from the circle!
