I don't think it is a case of colour or money, the gaelic football star got busted in Ireland and so did Vick. Being famous just means the person is a bigger scalp, a better media campaign and a goldmine for donations. Connections and position have something to do with it, that and being better organised and more cautious. Maybe the guy with the conspiracy theory about the masons was onto something, lol. It seems quite often drugs or other crime leads to uncovering a lot of cases.

They don't have to catch someone cooking these days, just being in possession of the ingredients is enough. It doesn't hurt their case to be selective in what they do or don't photograph. If one dog gets loose and both dogs involved get some marks on them then that is what they will focus on, even if the person is breeding dogs just for weightpull they will have a lot of the "equipment consistant with dog fighting".

There yard looks like shit, There dogs look like shit, There equipment looks like shit, The two in the mug shot look like shit. Notice the pattern? Would anyone here buy a dog from a yard that looks like that with dogs in that condition? So why is anyone sticking up for these two? Anyone who thinks these two were proper dogmen are just fooling themselves nothing but a couple puppy peddlers trying to make a fast buck that have ZERO respect for the dogs. There is probably a lot more to the story also than it may seem at this point. Maybe they were trying to get them for something else and the dogs were all they could get them on who knows. Very doubtful that they were a couple roll model citizens that just so happened to get falsely accused.

LOL, I surely didn't act like they were 'dog men' or anything of the sort. I said that's bullshit to get locked up over what you all have described. And whether you all like to admit it or not, race along with money and connections do make a difference in this phucked up system we have.

If you own dogs you have to take care of them end of story. Food, water, medical aid. Why is it so many people horde dogs/animals/children that can't even take care of them self? I would rather own two good well taken care of dogs than twenty unhealthy starved ones. Yards like this give true proper dog men a bad rap and pit bulldog dogs in general. And that's the last thing any of us need.

There is no true dogman in the publics eye. All tarred with the same brush. Anything to do with gamedogs and proving them is looked down on by 99% of the population in civilized society. Theres a saying that I will alter to be relevant to this discussion here, you can build a thousand bridges, but get busted on dog fighting charges and be forever known as a dog fighter.

It's a socioeconomic thing. Live in the middle of nowhere and don't have contact with any other associates and be a law abiding citizen in every other aspect of life and there should be no trouble. It is strange that some well known names have always been safe from interference and I gues that is where connections come into place.

Box Bulldog, I agree with everything you stated in this post. I'm not making excuses for the poor condition of the yard/dogs. But I will stand by my feeling that what I see is not worth criminal charges. Plain and simple, my man.

There is something to be said for having a clean tidy yard with well taken care of dogs. Your odds are a lot better of not running into trouble. A shit covered eye sore with a bunch of staving chewed up wormy dogs catches a lot more attention than a neat and tidy yard with well taken care of dogs. Also decent looking equipment and buildings such as dog houses, kennels, fencing, pens ec. looks a hell of a lot better in the eyes of the power that be than junk built out of rotten scrap. Just some food for thought.

That's why I don't mind posting my yard or dogs on the web for anybody to see. I take pride in how I care for these animals and don't mind if anybody and everybody sees. Good post, Box Bulldog.

Taking care of your dogs and yard and having pride in them speaks for itself. Stronger than any word's or sales pitch. As I know already from reading other posts by you your yard and dogs are your pride and joy and my hats off to you! There needs to be more people like you that have yards because they have a passion for it not puppy peddlers and mills that are trying to make a quick buck and could care less about having any pride or respect for there dogs. And unfortunately there seems to be getting to be more and more crooks trying to make a buck. And it looks bad on the hole pit bulldog community.

One thing I have been told that will always stick with me to my final days and I truly believe is: ''Treating your dogs well with pride and respect doesn't make them any less GAME'' All should remember that.

This is the real reason they got busted. I'll bet a check with overtime local PD got word local crackheads had some dogs. "Hernando County sheriff's deputies said in a news release that the investigation began Sunday when they found a severely injured dog in a cage without food or water." They found the dog on Sunday?? You know why the sheriff found the dogs not AC? AC don't run on Sunday... TIP OFF TIP OFF!! Second, the sheriff came out because I'm sure they live in a rural area, aka the country. If you have ever been outside of the city, deep enough in the country, you have seen yards waaaaaay worse than this. WITH NO DOGS!!!!! It doesn't matter if they fought the dogs at all!! What matters is those 2 don't look like they can afford to fight anything!! What does that mean? Public defender, then 2 dog fighting convictions. SOME OF US know it's a numbers game. The problem is most of the participants are unwillingly involved! Do they look a lil shady? Yep! Was their yard dirty? Maybe, I couldn't see the vid. What I can say is every "dog man" doesn't have the prettiest yard and a pretty yard doesn't make you a good dog man, or a dog man at all.

If y'all feel these conditions are so bad, what about homeless ppl with dogs? They don't have shelter....

I agree with your 'rotten scrap' comment but to add to that, I got some real good quality fence panels from a friend who does fencing and I repurposed them and made shade boards out of them. It's not rotten scrap but it doesn't look as 'cleanly' as a piece of plywood like some of my spots have. But it provides more shade than the plywood does. Works great actually. I braced them up a little also.
