Talk a lot of shit, so where is your So. White pic?....I wouldn't say it is like the bully vs apbt at all. Johnson dogs unlike Bully's do serve a purpose and that is guarding. They can guard n herd cattle, gaurd your home - real man stoppers. And if you ever seen a decent Johnson type, which is different from a pure Johnson, they are very athletic(I admit they aquire this attribute from thier Scott blood) but add more muscle and bone. These J-types are great weight pull dogs and also excell in bite work. Undershots got a hard bite to them. I don't think you really have seen a decent Johnson or J-type to back up your statements. I don't knock Scott's types, I appreciate them for their qualities. They serve 2 different purposes.

Those were two impressive dogs man. Hines dogs were no joke, he had a little Johnson up in the mix tho - not to take anything away. I think if I had to do all over again I would go with a dog that was a Scott type or had more/majority Scott type. But Dutch serves his purpose.

Have you seen the dogs from Konfederate Kennels? What do you think about the Black Hybrids?

Also did anyone catch a documentary/news report on Feral Pigs the other night? pretty interesting showed a couple different guys hog hunting with dogs as well as other methods of eradication.

I believe Johnson and Hines started off together. At some point they had a falling out and went their own ways. Many of their original dogs had allot in common. I took a look at the Black Hybrids, they are a little big for my taste (I like my Eli dogs a little smaller).Nice looking dogs though.I like the confederate kennels dogs but I think if I was getting another big Bulldog I would go with a Southern white (like Snowbird). They are hard to find but thats what Alan scott started with. I love watching those old videos of Snow Bird doing catch work.

Yeah, I have to say the 100% Johnson dogs are too far in the other direction, I like a mix of the two something well rounded. I think from a AmBulldog stand point the Black hybrids are interesting, for hog/sleeve work etc. but from a apbt stand point deffinately not my cup of tee, smaller is deffinately what I would rather have also.
I agree snowbird was very very impressive and I would not hesitate feeding that if I got the chance.

@ Bulldoggerr no problem.I wish I could find the full video. @MCS, yeah I bet the black hybrids are great at both sleeve and hog work.

i know this is an old thread but I personally know alot of these dogs in the pics. i was there when Tyson was put on the suit. Huge bulldog, at least 140 in decent shape. He was not areal working dog, just too extreme. but he had awesome drive and super stable and confident. breed to standard bitchs produced some good dogs.
