Yesterday the "fine" city of spfld,ma called sayin there have been numerous complaints of dogs and many unregistered dogs on the premesis.....all the dogs on the yard are up to date and registered....can they have animal control come due to people coming by with other dogs even if mine are legit??? I dnt want problems in my city I jus think its bullshit!

How would the person complaining know if the dog is registered? Or are they just assuming since the complaint is "numerous dogs" and only x number are registered. Sounds like someone doesn't like you and your dogs.....might just be a bullshit reason to come out and visit.

what I would do is the following:

gather up your documentation- license and rabies certs and bring it down to AC yourself. if that does not satisfy them, you might want to invite them over to show them what you have. i would rather invite them over, then them invite themselves.
iirc in MA you are entitled to know who is complaining, as its often an irritated neighbor ( remember-good fences make great neighbors) and they try to get you to work out your problems amongst yourselves so it doesnt become a daily annoyance to AC, whom have better things to do

Yeh I'm in the process of seeing who called to try to explain my case I have all the paperwork together I guess I need to jus invite AC like y'all said before they shoot a suprise visit but thanks for the support its just me and my mom so I try to stay to myself as much as possible people jus always assume shit:confused:

i wouldnt invite them over just yet- go to them first. remember to remain calm, and act professional when presenting the AC the documentation on your dogs.
if that fails, then you could invite them out- but be sure your on the up-and-up

your also only allowed to have 3 adult dogs living on your property. Dogs under 6 months are not included, so make sure you say that you have less than 4 on your property. JMO

only if they are in plain site. they can't search your property but if they can see them thats fair game. 3 dogs is the rule for where i live as well and im not far from you.

The zoning commission in our town changed in 2006. So unless you had a certified kennel license with the town before 06, then you will not be about to get one as long as you live in Springfield. And yes the AC can pop up at anytime, they can't take your dog unless your given documentation of the problem and refuse to fix it within the time given. Unless your dog is in a life or death situation, they can't take your dogs unless you sign them over. The zoning commission is on Tapley st across from Oak Grove cemetery if you want to call and ask them.

Would i be wrong for thinking i can legally have 3 dogs without a kennel liceance, i also live in ma., From what i found online i think i can get a kennel permit for 5, 10 and 25 dogs? Does that sound right. Also i am looking to move in the spring or latest next fall. I will be buying 3-4 acres of land on the north or south shore. Do the laws regarding how many dogs you can have vary form town to town in MA.?

Yes the laws change from town to town. My buddy has a license for 25 dogs and he's in mass about 7 miles from me.
