I have only bred three all game litters in my life two out of the same bitch and one from the same family from a aunt to nephew. This is over a period starting in 1975, I know they were all game cause I kept every dog I bred and raised them all. So to the dog fraternity I want your opinions on this subject such as I was always told coming up the hill if you breed one all game litter in your life you did well....... and then.....

They were from the Hetrick X Lightner X Bullet X Clouse blood from O.Stephany's CH Rastus X Rocca's Cherry Bomb 2x winner. I bred to the top of the pedigree and to the bottom with the top of the pedigree dogs coming out just a little better over time. I still have this blood.

Not just an all game litter but all were show dogs as well. Early won twice. Miss Petey collected one forfeit and paid one forfeit. Bang won once and lost game. Bonkus died in keep for his first show. The other female was deemed a match dog and had her weight out there and the mother of these dogs passed. Her show card was pulled at that point. I had Petey. My partner had Bang. A buddy had had Bonkus. Early once in the deep south and once up north, two different owners. The other female stayed with the owner of the female, I forget her name. Birdman was well on his way to #1 when the man ran in.

It is a rarity. One that is often exaggerated in order to sell puppies. I have seen only a few all game litters. And have personally experienced only one all show litter.

good post...seen a few litters that all were "pit game" or even box quality per-say,relying more on the ability of the litter than overall gameness.

That is the only litter I have ever seen personally that made it to the show, or had a show date set. I forgot one, Ringo won once and then was lost when his owner took the state up on an all expense paid trip. It was an offer he could not refuse.

True, as these dogs were hard mouthed dogs and had finish, nether end of their pedigree suggested what they ended up being. They were pushed hard as they came along. I can't say they were all game dogs but I can say they were all game enough. I could possibly say they were talented enough, had enough ability, more than enough mouth and great conditioning....all that could have very well hidden the cur.

Gameness gets so subjective so quick.

I am one of those who think they all will quit given the right circumstances. I know more folks that think the opposite....but ppl forget these animals are not machines. I have seen some do belly crawls at the age of 3 to be taken off the chain at 5 and pull up on top. That's another topic though!

Gameness is subjective like Slim said....I'd hope for a whole show worthy litter
