Albon Dosage?

    Anybody know the dosage of albon i would give for a 9 pound pup. Its the injectible kind and not the oral kind. Any help would be appreciated.

    I dunno if this will help you at all...it's for cattle but the preportions should still be relative. Hope it helps-

    <nobr>a wide variety of organisms, such as streptococci, staphylococci, and members of the E. coli-</nobr>
    <nobr>salmonella group of bacteria. </nobr>
    <nobr>Comparatively low doses of Albon give rapid, sustained blood levels required for effective</nobr>
    <nobr>disease therapy.</nobr>
    <nobr>TOXICITY AND SAFETY: Albon has been shown to be a well-tolerated sulfonamide with relatively</nobr>
    <nobr>high solubility at the pH normally occurring in the kidney and with a low degree of toxicity.</nobr>
    <nobr>Following the administration of Albon at the recommended dosage, no undesirable side effects</nobr>
    <nobr>have been observed.</nobr>
    <nobr>DOSAGE: Albon should be administered to cattle so that the initial dose is equivalent to 25 mg/lb</nobr>
    <nobr>of body weight and each subsequent daily dose is equivalent to 12.5 mg/lb of body weight.</nobr>
    <nobr>Length of treatment will depend on clinical response. In most cases, treatment for 3–4 days is</nobr>

    Albon is for coccidia or sulphonamide susceptible bacteria. The dosage for your dog would be 2 1/2 cc under the skin or intra-muscular. Then 1 1/4 cc for 6 days. treatment lasts 7 days.

    i use dimethox 40% which is the same thing as albon. for the treament of goats, it is .08 x 1 lb of weight on the first day, then .04 x 1 lb of body weight for the next 13 days.
     
  6. :( that much for a 8 # pup will probably kill the dog !! i would give half of a half of that .. i cant find the dossage so i would really hold off CB and let me find the EXACT dosage !!
