Nothing wrong with thinking ahead. Get an idea of where you want to go with it. Research on the right stud/kennel for 2-3 years and if by then she works out you're ready to make a decision.

Just be sure she's everything she needs to be and don't compromise. If she's lacking I wouldn't back her up. Not every bitch needs to be bred.

Thats what I was saying. Give her a look over and try her out in a few treadmill races, if she makes a good showing against some quality, proven dogs then you have something on your hands. Even if she doesn't win the race but doesn't give up.

You've got nothing but time, she's still young so research long and hard before you decide on a stud.

why look for a pup that would cross with her blood???
so you got a couple of years to wait and see how she turns out and a few more to see how your little male pup turns out, so what if ya male don't turn out??
i know your bitch and your male pup are going to turn out to be very game dogs and worthy of breeding cause i see it all to often these days:rolleyes:
i really do understand why people do this and come on forums to put infront of all just what you have, and i do really try to be nice about it, but it frustrates me so.....:( don't worry im not usually this nice about it in person lol...
forget about the breeding side of things and leave that to someone who really knows how to make a contribution.;)

^^^^ps....if you are seriously looking to produce some good ones yourself, you already went about it the wrong way,
ill give you a chance here to maybe get some good advise from some of the good people who visit this forum.

firstly....why would you start out with a pup?
if of course it is your goal to start a family of dogs of your own.

if this is not the case, what are your intensions for breeding animals, you do know you will get more than just one pup or two from a litter(in most cases) so what of the unwanted pups, and how do you decide when pups are pups and some are no good for your program lol..
do you have the room to keep them all, time to keep them all healthy, time to keep them all in check, and the know how to decide the best candidates for your on going breeding program????

sorry, im being so brief, maybe we could go into a more detailed discussion when we get through here???

    B.....

I would go with a frisco dog as an outcross if you're looking to add mouth. Turtlebuster is good but not as consistent with mouth. I've seen the cross made and it brings in some great animals. Of course first thing being is that the parents are worth being bred as stated. If she turns out to be what you want and you're still wanting the mouth id say go with something real heavy on frisco. I have dogs down from blackjack and ch gator, and ch brick. They cross good with the frisco stuff. IM me if you have any other questions. Again i know you said you werent speaking of now and there's nothing wrong with looking to the future so good luck. Most will tell you whether they like frisco or not, it is a good out and being that you're looking for mouth it would be my suggestion.

Heck even TG made the redboy/frisco cross and had great success with it. Its a proven cross. I have jeep/redboy/rascal dogs and you have what seems to be a real heavy redboy dog. Either way the Frisco stuff with both is working. Ive been hearing alot of noise being made from both and i dont mean just where im at.

wow..i dont post often nor do i frequent the forum as much as i have in the past.i think the guy was just asking what the best line to cross his pup with.im partial to the rascal stuff...i agree with gameex and will say heavy snooty lines tend to mix well with rb stuff.with that in mind do some ped research and see which studs have produced well when breeding to rbX lines over the past 5 yrs.
as we all know ppl watch these forums..be wise with your "encouraging" words fellas....think about it!

i kant spell it, butt i ken due it

wow, just wow. well said my friend

while this very well may be the case, and the OP may have the ~best intentions~ but-posts like this are all too common, next thing you know we will be seeing that "accidental breeding" thread on feds online.
i am a firm believer in seeking advice from the folks you got the dogs from- not the peanut gallery online. ask THEM what clicks well w/ the blood- maybe they have crossed it up before and know what works and what doesnt with the particular dogs in the program-could save alot of time and lives.
