I know patchwork and I were both apauled at the male that took first in our class 18 - 24 males on Sat, can any one explain that one to me? The dogs that took 2nd and 3rd looked better than him!! now don't get me wrong, Angus is a pretty boy, he deserved his wins...but some of the others...should have not placed at all.

No offense to anyone, but the people complaining are the people who A. Didn't come Saturday or B. didn't take a place. I don't believe my dog Lil' Bit should have placed, so I wasn't upset with her either day not placing. Now on Saturday, the dog in the 18-24 month class male was appalling....IDK how that happened..LOL

Well how can you explain the dog in Best buckskin that took first place. The dog was red with a black nose and even the judge asked him if that was really a buckskin and everybody in the show ring was pissed off reall bad about that dog placing first because the dog wasnt no where near buckskin. Patchwork i think you might be getting a little over your head with your winnings. Your dog phantom is a pretty dog but thats all he isnt true to the REAL standard. You know phantom isnt the slightest dog aggresive which is suppose to be standard and the dogs are suppose to show there "activeness" in the show ring. And your freind Magnum kennels are VERY good freinds with the people at the AADR and you hang out with her so i would say your pretty much in the "group". The show sunday just didnt go well for me after that dog that won best buckskin when it really wasnt.

Every dog show is political - it's simply one persons opinion. If you are going to bitch and whine and comlain every time you don't agree with the judges decision then stay away from the show and stick to weight pull where no one's opinion matters. Its funny how they are the best judges ever for a lot of people as long as they win, and the worst if they don't. If you don't agree with how things are going is the shows then make reputation for yourself in the dogs, judge some fun shows, become a sanctioned judge and and try to makes some changes to the system. Some people take these shows entirely to seriously - they are supposed to be fun and show john Q. Public a positive side of the dogs they may not know about. If you can't go and enjoy them win or lose - stay home

here's an idea, how about saying something to the judge or the club members. If they were really placing dogs that had horrible conformation then it should be obvious what needs to be done. if the judges don't give an honest answer then voice ur outrage and demand a change and that the judge should be discredited and the show should be re-done. There's so much u can do to make changes, don't just come here and complain, make a move and make somethin happen

Most of my dogs are DA, but I work with them on behaving in the ring. I feel like the judge can not really see my dog to judge conformation properly if he/she is acting crazy.

:mad:FourCorners:mad:...You do not know my dogs...You do not know how they are handled, what they do, when they do it, and what they are doing when you think something. Don't say something about my dog unless you know what you are talking about. I'm glad you know he was a lil' car sick and hot on Saturday and I'm glad you didn't see him going off in the ring on Sunday. I'm glad you know my dogs better than I do, maybe you can tell me why they place at almost every show and that they show the public that this breed is worth giving a damn about. I haven't seen your dogs and every time you post about the shows, you are angry. I'm glad you have dogs in the standard, how many are championed? Wow, must be a lot considering you know all about everything in the dog show world. When is your next sanctioned show that you are judging at so I can take my dogs and let them show you what kind of bulldogs they are. Let me see pictures of your standard dogs. Anyone who has met Phantom knows what kind of dog he is and why he is the standard. When you get a show champion let me know, so that I can see what a "true" show standard dog is.

I know my dogs faults, I'm not kennel blind. I know what is wrong with which dogs I own. DA is not one of them. FC, Phantom is trained. He goes to work with me, he has to know when to be turned off and when to be turned on. I know how to control my dog. I'm not here to please you, or anyone else. I just hate when people bitch and complain about the shows. Its like loneshark said, if you can't stand it, do weight pull, or get out completely. I don't win at every show and thats fine. I don't start threads just to bitch and complain. I'm sorry you are pissed. I did not see the buckskin class due to the fact I don't have one and don't usually watch classes if I am talking to someone. I'm assuming your dog was in that class.

Actually you would be suprised of how much i know you and your dog. My Female is a Show Champion now and made Champion at the nationals so maybe you should know about me and my dogs before you come at me. I wont ribbons at the show but i still dont like how the judging went. Your dog phantom is overated in your mind. Your winning because your in the group at the AADR and ADBA its like highschool all over again at the shows. If your dog makes Champion in the show ring was does that mean in the dog world? NOTHING you just have a pretty dog thats all and that dont mean nothing in the dog world.

    I remember seeing that dog.

Yep, I saw you. I think I pointed you out to FK.

Yep, I was near NCPW when she was talking to you. I had a South Park t-shirt on and blue sunglasses...

I agree that all shows are politicial. There is always a chance that someone knows someone else better. I wasn't there on Sunday, so I can't really say anything about the judge. As for Saturday, some of the dogs were a great pick, and some were not the greatest pick, but I enjoyed the show anyway. I had fun.

Let's leave at that, and stop this "pissing" war over whose dog is better. I am not an expert on the breed, but I know that NCPW puts a lot of work into her dogs. They aren't perfect, but no one has a perfect dog, but they also aren't horrible looking specimans either. She also does weight-pull and almost has Phantom therapy certified, which seems like a good sign for the breed for me. She can't do the "other" thing, because it's illegal. As for FC dogs, I don't know his dogs, so I can't tell you whether they are beautiful or whatever, so I won't judge his dogs at all.

I'm probably going to be going to the AADR show in FL if the funds come up. If not I may be there at Mary's show. I was beside her on Sunday, and talked to her alot.

It is kinda funny how some people will get pissy if their dog dosn't win under one judge, and then says that they liked the other judge better b/c they placed their dogs. Just b/c my dog didn't place in the show Sat dosn't mean I don't like him. He just judged by friends. I'm not a member of the AADR club either and I still placed, actually alot of people that wern't in the club placed, both days.

Lets just say "Opinions are like a$$ holes, everyones got one" you may not like one judge while the other person does.

FC if you would have made it on Sat. you still would have got mad at his choices too, I can go ahead and tell you that yours wouldn't have placed, mine sure didn't, they werent fat enough! LOL!

But who cares, its all over, the shows are supposed to be fun, not pissing matches. You go to have a good time and meet people.

    ncpw - don't sweat it.

someone from this board i've talked to said something to the extent of, "if you don't have haters, you ain't doing something right."

the more i think about it, the more i agree with him.

no need to get worked up and defend yourself, save your breathe cause it isn't worth it.

the first sentence of your reply to 4C is all ya needed. you're the one paying for the feed and upkeep, and you ultimately decide what your dogs are worth to you.

    She's a nice lady. I enjoy Mary's show....always have a good time. :D

  14. Well had you been there Saturday, you would have seen a lot worse...
Blue gotti/RE hippos placing 1st and 2nd...2 man biters placed 1st and a black dog with a HORRIBLE gay tail that curled all the way around in a 'C' and circle...placed not once but 2 or 3 times 1st and 2nd place...

So basically, my point is, it is hard for you to judge which was better when you were not there to see the Sat judge...I know that man may be the owner and what not, but I am telling you....he gave a 1st place ribbon to dog that damn near bit his entire hand off......and mixed bred mutts to top it off with....
Sat....only 2 of Ed's dogs placed...one which was Kain (and he deserved it) and the other I posted...
And from what I understand..he brough different dogs Sunday....couple the same but the others were different that sat's.........

I cant possibly see how the judge on Sunday was worse than the one on Sat.....But I was not there Sun.....but I did see what dogs took place and that tells me something,......

  15. We had a great time this weekend at Nationals. Our dogs didn't place Saturday. However, on Sunday Vogue took third place, 6-9 mnth female and Caman took first place, 2-3 yr male. If anyone snapped any pictures of these two please let me know.

  16. The guy in the picture in question is Todd and is part of Tenicity Knl. Sorry some of you people felt it was politcal. The Judge on Sun was from cali and didnt know anyone there. If the show on sat was so politcal I would of done alot better 2-2nds and a 3rd with 7 dogs.

Todd is the one in blue shirt with black dog? I always thought the guy with Licker was Tenacity Kennels, or are they partners?

I think only one person felt it was overly political this time around, but most of us realize that most shows have some "politics" involved. Doesn't mean everyone that wins is involved, because like someone above said, there are times a judge really does notice a dog, and that is when they win. I think most of us meant in general shows tend to be political, not that show imparticular (though one member felt it was).

    Congrats on your wins!

Yeah, pretty much everyone who deserved a ribbon got a ribbon either day. I had fun and thats what counts....NEXT STOP ADBA SHOW IN HICKORY

  19. You think this is political people? Step out there and run with the "big dogs" in AKC, where not only are you competing with breeders and owners, but you pit yourself against professional handlers - yes, they make their living by showing other people's dogs and 9 times out of 10, they will beat you, regardless of what your dog looks like. Ecoastkingpin, you put on a good show! FC - Whining gets you no where, suck in that bottom lip and put your big boy/ girl panties on - if you spent more time and energy working on and with your dogs and studying up on the standard you might get somewhere. When you've been around conformation dogs almost 30 years, Championed several AKC dogs (beating out the PH :)), and Championed and bred several of your own APBT's...then come back and we'll chat. That's NOT to brag, anything worth a damn takes time, effort, energy, and dedication. And Twiztid, you are right, opinions really are like a$$holes! I don't post much, I just enjoy watching y'all hash it out, but I had to add my 2 cents!

I can't speak for the rest, but I meant all registries' shows (is that the correct termology?) have their politics, not just the AADR. lol....Heck any show in general, be it your showing dogs, cows, your little kid, or yourself. lol.
