Better not mention that to the guy who built it, he is a bit touchy about that subject. I guess if you can't take some suggestions on improving your product you should not have it on the market.

LOL - so Angus didn't place cause the mill was crappy? That's funny, he didn't seem to have a problem running it that I could see.
Simple - if you don't like it, don't buy it.
I think Fords are crappy too - think they'll take them off the market for me?
Oh and, which one of you is going to haul your "primo" mill to the next show for all of us to use?

My dogs did pretty good - CH Buck placed third in the treadmill race and two firsts in 5 and over male.

First off, I never said one thing bad about that mill. That mill is much nicer then the one I own. I am now as I was then, a bystander, that is all. Now to the question on who is gonna bring a mill, that is a good question. Im sure there is a club member out there who would bring there mill that they bought instead of having someone there that is trying to hock their wares. At that point if someone makes a suggestion or a comment, postive or derogitory, they wont over react causing an scene. Im not going to condem or praise anyone in this situation because I was not part of it. I was a BYSTANDER. Dont try to place me in a spot where I dont belong.

As a side note, DTWO, your dogs as always looked great. I wish I could get mine looking as good as you have yours.

If you read my post properly you can see I never said that!

But that mill they used that day was crappy and not built properly with the slanted slats and skipping track. I got 3 different mills so I know what a smooth built, good quality slatmill should look like and run! And you got one thing right....I don't like it and I would'nt take it for free....thats my opinion only. I also can see the merchant/builder can't take honest feedback and loses his temper to fight potential customers.

And by the looks of that pic of Angus you were standing right beside me. LOL
And you are right....Angus is a beautiful specimen of the APBT...almost too perfect.

Ferk, you know how people are - they don't care about other people's stuff. Why would someone bring their fine mill for people to mess up in what amounts to a fun class? I bought my Colby mill directly from Lou Colby in person at a dog show where he was "hocking" them. Grand Carpet "hocks" theirs at shows. Like I said, if you don't like it, just don't buy it.

Congrats on the wins every one!! I wish we would have been able to make it, but you know how money gets sometimes.

Time to beat a dead horse. I never said anything bad about the that mill. Was I standing there when suggestions were made, yes. Did I make any, no. Did the person that makes the mills and the person commenting on the mills lose their cool, yes. Was either of them me, no. Do I think that the maker of Grand Carpet Mills or Louis Colby would get mad and throw a punch at a potential customer that was making suggestions of improvment to their product no matter how critical, I dont think so. Did the maker of that mill throw a punch at a potential customer because they were making suggestions on how to improve their product, yes they did, I was standing right there. I know this was an unfortunate situation that happened.

I can tell you this, working in retail for almost 20 years I have NEVER cursed out a potential customer, flipped off a potential customer, or thrown a punch at a potential customer no matter what they have said to me. Im sure you know this millmaker a lot better then I do, because I dont know him at all. As a friend I can see how you are defending his product, but there is no ways to defend his actions. I dont care if you build the best product in the world, someone will have a suggestion on how to improve it. If you cant take that as a positive and try to improve your product you dont need to be making a product. If you take it as a negitive, put a chip on your shoulder and start flying the bird and throwing punches like he did, well you dont need to be in business. He is a hot-headed jackass that needs to grow up before trying to retail anything IN MY OPINION.

I just hope this does not strain my relationship with you or any of the other club members. You all have always treated me very well and made me feel welcome. I hope nothing like this happens again. There is no need for it.

You mean after ALL this BS that went on, the mill belonged to someone else?

The inquiring customer was lead to believe it was the mill maker's.
Then that mill wasn't for sale?

In the pass they tried to let people use them at other AADR shows but one club already had a mill to use but still let them vendor because they don't like to donate to the raffle when they are vending.

At an ADBA show they were told to leave for not donating.

This way they can advertise their mill for free by letting it be used in the treadmill race.

BTW JF, you are the one who brought it up about the track boards not being straight across when the maker came up. lol

Yes the inquirer had brought it to your attention first but when the mill maker was asked if the tracking could be adjusted by the inquirer is when he got mad and cuss people out and gave them the finger.

I didn't think the conversation was in a negative manner.
Just enthusiasts kicking ideas.

But lets face facts, historically his mills were of poor quality and he admitted that he had to make them better because the inquirer had made suggestions in the pass.

Was the mill worth the quoted price of $1,200.? LOL
Not IMO or many others.

As STPFAN pointed out, when you've owned well built mills, you know junk when you see it.

I know one thing for sure, no one needs to inquirer about those mills unless you want to be socked and BTW, doubled teamed!

First Show BOS was also Best Puppy. They are a couple out of NY - I forget their names, sorry!
Second BOS went to a female who I believe also showed in the champion class.
Sunday was a small seal colored bitch that looked fantastic - sorry I didn't get their names either.

You know what? Y'all need to take an introspective look at the common denominator of ALL the petty BS drama ALL THE TIME.

I don't know who owned the mill and I could give two shits - that's one less thing I have to haul there after hauling the weights, PA system, and six dogs and who knows what else in my van.
So what if it's free advertising - we have something to use for our race and one less thing we don't have to haul back and forth.

So please - comment on the cute patterdale pup or post some pics of your dogs pulling, showing, or in their Halloween costumes.
Otherwise, go get your own thread!

Since you were commenting on the Mill it appeared you knew who owned it and posted a picture of one in a house.

I don't think it is petty drama when people act in the nature of the person that was representing the making of the mill or what went on, do you?

Well, if that is the only quality of a mill you can find to be donated to the fun class of treadmill racing I will let the Pres. use mine.

The only patterdale pup I saw at the show was being held by an old friend of mine at the DG vendor counter.

I stand corrected. I did ask if there was a tracking adjustment because the slats where slightly crooked.

That being said, I wanted to snatch up that Patterdale pup from the DG guy. My wife fell in love with that pup. Someday I might get one but at the time I am at my dog limit. As for the costumes I felt sorry for the dogs..LOL

correct me if I'm wrong but when someone hits and assaults someone else at a show, they are barred for good, correct?

A club can be held liable for not providing a safe environment for showing dogs.

Yes, now I do know who Dtwo is and the position he has took.

For a in-line mill?
A person was assaulted.
I don't think you will have to worry about another invitation being excepted to come to the show because how it was left, your daughter's mentor is going to do one last favor and not come again because of the ending, as was heard, will end in a manner as his old friend Maurice handled things...

The Pres. will have to address this, it comes with the job.
Remember the Taylor boy who got barred for bad behavior and didn't even through a punch?

Dog show is not the place you need to teach manners.

As was said, people are getting tried of being M.F., C.S., fingered and just in general being verbally abused besides being assaulted at dog shows.
This is one of the things why turn outs at dog shows are down, just one of..

Anyways, I wish I didn't forget about the show. Guess it was a pretty big turn out with some decent dogs.
