Quite a story about him as well,can see why some would be jealous around him,quality,indeed.

 

I understand...I myself understand & know a little about certain strains of both, but from your response both of you are thinking about trying that breeding out.

If you guys have the room to experiment, & raise the pups, I would do it...as it may possibly click, but you never know til you try, & I'm sure you already know those of us dedicated to the breed keep trying to better it, & that is a challenge of a chess game.

Anyways good luck to you guys, I am not anybody, but I like what your doing.

i just wanted to get on here and say that I got two pups off of tom garner and he is the worst businessman i have come across he didnt even let me see my first pick male until 2 days before i had to go pick him up! i waited 15 years and did hours and hours of research before deciding to go with him and he left a sour taste in my mouth. super direspectful, and I got two pups with worms and my female had pnuemonia upon pickup. never again dude never again

THIS IS TOM GARNER'S RESPONSE TO VINCENT HOUSTON. PLEASE PAY EXTRA ATTENTION TO HIS PROPOSAL TO MR.HOUSTON AT THE END OF HIS STATEMENT.
"Vincent left here happy as a lark with his litter picks. All pups appeared healthy to both me and him. I heard nothing from him for two weeks. He then called sounding really irritated because he had missed the 10 day deadline for submitting the applications for registration documents and was now required to pay a $15 late fee (per pup) in order to process them with the SDR. I had already spent my day dealing with one high-stakes issue after another and the absurdity of a customer having two of the best bred pups on the planet and getting twisted over a miniscule late fee (that doesn't come to me anyway) struck me as beyond ridiculous. I laughed and told him to pay it and get on with life. My laughing was not so much at Vincent as at the absurdity of a man's focus on a small negative detail while swimming in a sea of blessings. He had the fruit of my 42 years of work and the genes of countless great dogs that earned the right to reproduce, yet he was worked up over a few dollars late fee. Apparently Mr Houston took exception to this and looked to do something vindictive.
Pups do get worms and about the only time dogs don't have worms is at the moment they are treated for worms. We are very aggressive in our vaccination and parasite control regimens. More than one veterinarian has called us "extreme".
This is the med schedule we follow for our pups:
2 weeks treat with pyrantel pamoate for worms. 1 cc per 5 lbs.
3 weeks vaccinate with Duramune Bronchishield intranasal for kennel cough. This goes in the nose.
4 weeks vaccinate with Neopar and worm with pyrantel pamoate. Treat with Toltrazuril to eliminate any coccidia. 1cc for 5 lbs. One tenth cc cattle formula ivermectin for heartworm prevention and eradicating hookworms.
5 weeks vaccinate with Neopar.
6 weeks worm with fenbendazole for 5 days. Use the fenbendazole mixed with yogurt for the puppies (1cc for 5 lbs) and vaccinate with Duramune 5.
7 weeks vaccinate with Neopar.
8 weeks worm with praziquantel 1 day. One tenth cc cattle formula ivermectin for heartworm prevention and eradicating hookworms.
9 weeks vaccinate with Duramune 5. Treat 5 days with fenbendazole.
11 weeks vaccinate with Neopar. 12, 15, 18, 21 weeks vaccinate with Duramune 5, worm with pyrantel pamoate.
Monthly injections of cattle formula ivermectin for heartworm prevention and eradicating hookworms. .1 cc ivermectin per 10 lbs.
After this treatment regimen I think the probability of any significant problem with worms was quite slim.
Regarding pneumonia? This is the first I've heard of it. I think that part was thrown in for good measure. Neither pup left here with any signs of illness.

Vincent, please bring these two pups back for a full refund. I will throw in an additional $100 for your gas. I have 10 eager, deserving buyers waiting on them. While there are indeed some businessmen who don't carry out principles of fair play in their dealings, I'm not one of them. Sometimes there are bratty customers who think an illegitimate complaint is a powerful way to manipulate others. This shows me a level of character that is beneath that of the dogs I produce. Please return the pups Vincent so I can place them in more deserving hands."
