whats up everyone, my name is chilo, and I’ve been snooping through the site for a few days now along with a few other forums. I decided to join this one due to the fact I have more similar interests and it’s a little bit more informative in my opinion. I am a rookie to this world, but I am not a rookie when taking care of pits. I’ve grown up with pit bulls my entire life, I have had a few pit bulls as just pets and trained them along with saving a couple from parvo, and they ended up developing a life long love and attachment towards me and vice versa. Also my best friends dad used to run his own kennel in Pomona California and he would show us the ropes from time to time. Unfortunately my best friends father has passed and I’m looking for wisdom. I have two pitbull puppies brother and sister. Very nice looking pups and at some point I would love to get into the kennel world, which I’m attempting to get my toes wet a little. That’s why I am here. I am hoping that I’ve come to a good site to get informative and constructive expertise with the questions I have and will have. But for now I’m just here to introduce myself and also my pups.

Things I’m interested in learning are pedigrees and also bloodlines. I would like to know what makes a bloodline valuable, how to create your own bloodline, such as breeding programs and which bloodlines are good to go after for my specific build. When I am ready to take the dive in the water tho I will create post regarding all my questions and hope to find some great mentors on the site....

Tank was my first pit was tank in the first picture. He caught parvo. But him and I got through it

This is tank and Rico. Both have no papers and both got neutered due to getting caught by the dog pound FF969AC8-6576-4240-A9A2-136139AA834F.jpeg

And these two are my current pups that I will like to use as my foundations for my kennel. The are brother and sister with purple ribbon paper (which I know have no real value like a ch. pit) but I think they are great foundation pits. 6F0C7E0F-99E3-44D9-84A0-3323A42D6740.jpeg

thanks everyone for reading and much love to all..

  3. Welcome. Fairly new here as well although I created and referenced this forum for years. Bunch of Questions you asked inderectly.

I can only speak on mine, or should say only will. What makes it valuable and I place that value, is it's rarity and ability. Not only what's the in front , also what's to come. Consistent through generations.

Also being impeccable in my word. I am not a list nor a thief. So if I tell someone it's an A, you can believe it's not a C. In these dogs that's extremely rare now a days. To many people think they are M. Carver, and to be honest looking back, He was a snake.

Welcome... about the breeding and starting a “kennel”..... DON’T DO IT.... if you admit you have little to no experience, how can you tell if you have good dogs? I think you should just raise the pups and learn as you go! Breeding isn’t as easy as sticking 2 dogs together, especially brother/sister. Imo that’s one of the last ways one should breed, only to preserve something worth keeping. You don’t know how the pups will turn out and you’re going to breed em to start a kennel? Then you say you don’t know bloodlines or what makes dogs your own??? Slow down chief

Just study, research, listen, and go to dog shows. Don’t breed those dogs. Sounds harsh, but no offense

  6. Why the fuck dose everyone wanna breed dogs???
    whats so good about breeding?
can some one who actully breeds good dogs tell this chap how fucking hard it is?
my god lumping two mutts together is not breeding.theres enough shit dogs out there as it is.
when some one comes on the board talking about breeding well they need telling to fuck of imo.
one of the questions was how to create my own line?wow.theres folks whove worked dogs for forty years who dont have there 'own line'.....
own line?...change your name to Carver or Hammonds lol.

All the fucking time.pisses me of.
not ask about dogs in genrel.how to look out for the dog.how to feed and all that.no...first thing people ask is how they should breed the dog.

Not hey guys how should i breed this monster six time winner?
but hey guys how should i breed these two pups that are defo real pits with real papers of a real breeder.lol..or what was the last one on here i read?how do i breed my blue redboy dog or something like that..fucking hell,no wonder Bull breeds get a bad name when they get bred in that way.if they get bred to such shitty standards then who they gonna get sold to?other mongs with more shitty standards.who will breed them shitty dogs again.and there the shitty dogs what make the headlines when they kill a kid.

Did you read all that young wannabe breeder?dose that help you in anyway?
are you like wow thats a bit extreame?
because extreame as it sounds its the fucking truth..if you really love dogs.the best love you can give them is not breed them man.
theres fuckng awesome dogs what still dont get bred for all diffrent kinds of reasons..so why should some random dogs what are NOT represents of the breed be lumped together and sold as such?.
not doing em any favors mate.belive me.
i could never incorege anybody to breed dogs in this manner.incorge them not to more like!

It's constant work with NO time off. My days start at 5:30am. First thing I do is get dressed and go down to the pups area to clean, feed and play with pups. I then go out back to the adults and pick up shit, replace water buckets and give them a little attention before I go to work. I then go get ready for work. I'm at work for 9.5 to 10 hours. I come back home and repeat the morning routine all over again with the dogs except this time pups and adults get fed, area cleaned and attention/walks/mill. Takes me about 2 hours each time I do this routine ( not including walks\mill ) except for the 3rd time around 9 to 10pm. Pups take the same amount of time as the previous 2 times of the day but the adults are quicker. I just pick up shit and make sure water is not dumped or frozen. I then go to bed and do it all over again day after day, year after year. The times of the year that I don't have pups the adults take up that much more of my time. There are no brakes, no I'll do it tommorows or I don't feel like doing it todays. It has to be done every single day. Want to take a vacation with the family? Forget about it. You got pups and dogs to care for so cancel those plans you aren't able to leave the yard for more than 30 hours ever. Your time becomes consumed by these dogs. At the expense of your own life, time with your family and friends. It's a ton of work every single day. You will not get rich breeding these dogs. Most times you won't even be breaking even. If money motivates you then you better throw breeding idea right out the window. Takes a ton of time, energy and money with very little return financially. Most who last doing it do it for the love of it. I'm not against people breeding but I will tell you it isn't just for everyone and the shelters are jam packed with subpar dogs and don't needed any more added. It takes an unreal amount of dedication. Even more so if you don't have a spouse or helper that can help you out from time to time as it does become exhausting at times. I get to bed around 11 and then repeat all that every single day if the year. Leaves very little time for anything else. It's more than a full time job on top of ones full time job. This is just a peek into my routine. There is a ton that I've left out. Good luck. Many try their hand at it and most do not last long. Fizzle out just as fast they came in never to be heard of again. It's a lot of work for very little return.

CHILO: You are comparing apples to oranges. You've had this breed as a pet. BIG difference from breeding.

Listen and Learn from one of the Best I know of. AGK is " The Truth " Also some folks might scream when 800 a pup is a working mans price. IMO, these days that's actually cheap for a Outstanding family of Bulldogs with an outstanding family of folks behind the Bulldogs....

God Damn... The things you do to better this breed!!! You are a hell of a man! Without men like you this breed will decline faster and faster. Your work is appreciated I’m sure you know that. And I would think it’s reallt rewarding for you

I aint nobody special. I just have an opinion. However, that opinion came from years of doing it. People going to do what they going to do. I'd rather give that dose of reality than chastise the mans hopes and dreams. It aint all just fun puppy play, waggin tails and bags of money. It's an entire lifestyle of hard work and dedication. Litters aren't all fun and games. It's a very time and money consuming endeavour. Even worse when things go south and it's bound to happen from time to time. My advise for the guy is to slow down, learn more and maybe get a mentor. Got to know what a good dog looks like before you try and add or better it and you certainly can't tell that from a pup.

Lol bro why are you so mad. You don’t know me. You don’t know how much work I’m willing to put in. I gave you a brief background about myself. I knew somebody like you would hop on the post and try to discourage me. I came on here to gain more knowledge and learn from other people’s experiences. I’ve done a lot of hard things in life that you probably never tried and completed it. You were more destructive then constructive. But like I said I have more questions and other topics of discussion that I’d like to talk about. But you were probably to ignorant and emotional to comprehend what I wrote. That was only my first post big guy. And I bet if I pissed you off in person at a local convenient store you wouldn’t be talking crazy like you are behind a keyboard so just take a chill pill, guy. NOW AS FOR THE PEOPLE THAT ACTUALLY HAD A PRODUCTIVE RESPONSE (even the ones that are saying it will be hard work dedication, knowledge of countless things and so forth and it’s not for everybody), I do appreciate it. I will be looking forward to learning from you.. thank you.

Sounds like a lot of work. And I appreciate that. You definitely gave me valuable insight and touched on things that I made clear to myself about before I took this on. My schedule is almost like yours, as it has been my whole life granted I played college football and I managed to have a kid as a single father at 19 years and 2 pit bulls and still managed to get my degree *cough cough mr.soze the killer*. So I don’t imagine it to be easy, I won’t insult you and call it easy @AGK.. but I’m saying that I do have a very good discipline and I am very routinely orientated. I have managed to include my pups in my routine and I give them tons of my time. Are there any routine activities you do with your pups besides train given that they need to be sheltered pretty well to keep from viruses and such? I plan on going to the ukc show in Claremont this upcoming weekend, I’m pretty interested in what it take for dogs to be show quality and what not.. also can I ask your purpose behind you dog breeding ? At this point I hope that question isn’t taken the wrong way by the police (soze killer) but I feel it’s a fair question.

I respect that. I wrote in my post one of the most available Breeders/mentors I had has passed. Now I’m learning off books and the internet and my own personal experiences. But trust me I know the value of being a student first, which I am willing to do. I have time before I start breeding anyways. I wanted a dog regardless of breeding and I knew that I wanted a pitbull. So regardless these dogs are my family and like my kids. So I don’t want to do harm by being irresponsible. If you can point me in a good direction of getting mentorship and ways to sharpen my tools id appreciate it. You seem like a good person to acquire good game from but I’m not trying to impose lol. But Thanks for all your responses. Very much appreciated

I’ve Breeder dogs also. From pit bulls to boxers all the way down to shih tzus. I feel like you guys take what you read and run with it. I gave you a little background of myself trying to be hospitable and open about some things and all of a sudden people like you a soze killer think you guys are the standard of dog ownership and breeding. Relax. Before I signed up for this website I see. That a lot. Just a bunch of badgers towards people who are trying to be responsible like you want them to be and then you keyboard gladiators come out of no where trying to discourage every person that openly shares that they don’t have all the knowledge. I’m guessing your a person that has been breeding and still have came across things you aren’t prepared for. Which is a good thing. It’s called LEARNING. I swear some of you people aren’t doing nothing but throwing your capabilities on other people. And I can almost promise and guarantee you, you are far less capable of learning and adjusting to things like me. I mean I don’t wanna get on here criticizing people. But I feel attacked by ignorance. Next time you respond to someone with a post like mines. You should ASK about experiences of that person. Not assume. Some of you people don’t have life skills at all lol

Respect. My plans is to develop a craft before actually breeding them. I have been in this environment my whole life. And I feel like I’ve been doing tons of research. And I’ve learned more things since I’ve posted this. And also I wasn’t planning on breeding these two puppies to each other.... another assumption.. but anyways thank you. I appreciate you. And yes. I’d like to know how the gottis and the RE became to be.. like did someone purposely make them or did they just purchase the dog and make it champions and what not. I’m starting to thing you guys are too simple minded for me. I say something you guys ran a whole 10 miles with it. I haven’t even really began asking my true questions. They were just a general introduction of where I’m trying to go. That’s all. But I did take some valuable points from your response. So thank you for that
