the flirt pole and spring pole i rate more importent then a mill..
im sure some one will crusifi me for writing that like but so be it.
just running on a mill man.
spring pole is what they be doing. at ground level with the rope fighting back ofcourse.
and the flirt pole has surly gotta help there reflectes..
basic as fuck yes..but basic is good.
mix that with a million hours road work and that should get the dogs looking pretty good.

ide go down that root against some one who goes the tredmill root anyday.

As the saying goes mate i’ve never had a pot to piss in first mill i bought was £50 made of shopping trolley wheels lol ... i then got a one of my pals dad which sounds like yours with pit rollers of a washing plant that were about 16” x three “ and a rubber belt that ran slowly over it .. it was a ton weight .... spray showed me some of nkk old mills he still had so with been a joiner i made the framework out of 3x 2 timber but a big dog tended to wreck it so steel was the next way to go . i then saw a pals which had drums on the front which i made using old 9” gas pipe with a 11@ council road sign fixed on either side to keep the belt in place i made the slaths at work on the machines as i worked in a joiners shop at the time .... the time consuming thing for me was attaching all them to the belt ! The hours i spent making them was unbelievable my advice to anyone today would be if you can afford it save yourself the hassle and buy a decent one ! ... i can’t see the pictures when I click on them either but it looks like archie and charlie so yours obviously worked

 

Oldguy did you see the one spray made out of an electric human one ? it was class ! .... i bought a tunturi one (same make ) and had the same plans after seeing his but as usual i never got around to it i gave it away to a scrap man for free years later

 

I was also was gifted with a sp one off the owner of dillon after i gave his wife a staff pup ... i kept it years then when i knocked my garage down i asked him if he wanted it back but he didn’t so i gave it to a mutual pal

 

The one i got off dillons owner had been left outside off a previous owner so he got it back and then gave it to me ... i made all new laths for it in softwood like the original

I must have been mental in them days as to get the 2” bearing roller wheels for mine I went into toys r us and bought a load of kids roller blades to get the wheels

 

@reids skipper .. That's a nice mill that Dillon's owner gave you mate.. Was the NKK mill what Sprayman had a wooden framed one with thin slats? I had two of them mills, it was Bazo's original owner (TS) who made them, he was part of the northern NKK camp and had the best yard I ever seen in my life.. The electric mill Sprayman had he lent to an engineer for maintenance and never got it back, I gave Sprayman 2 of my mills and I never got them back either I used to call him Swampman coz everything lands in his yard disappears without trace and never seen again haha!

 

Yeah he an old wooden one and had nkk old wooden turntable mate ... it was pretty dark so i never got a good look at them ....some history for sure though !

 

You remember all them car batteries he used to power the lights in the shed mate? He was old school as fck man haha!
