in my campaign to learn more about my great granddad’s relationship with game dogs I was lucky enough to get a call from a 93 year old man and his grandson last night. Their last names are Fausnaught and the old timer grew up right here in Knox county IN before he relocated to Eugene Oregon after his son was badly injured while serving in Korea. He, like many young men raised in this area during the “hard times” wanted off the farm and tried to get a job selling cars for my great granddad. Instead of giving him a job he payed his way through barber college and a lifelong friendship ensued. He was introduced to Game dogs as a kid and raised them even after he moved west. His grandson is keeping the tradition alive and has some dogs that he developed from the Flatts and Parsons bloodlines. The Parsons were down from Lightner and old family red bloodlines. He wasn’t sure where the flatts originated. Can anyone share any knowledge of these bloodlines, and if anyone is still breeding them today?

    Thanks

His name was in my great granddads journals. I also saw his last name in the family tree that one of the Wilson girls researched and went back to the American revolution. Her and a couple of her cousins wanted to be in the sons and daughters of the American revolution.
I did a search and located him and reached out. Actually there 8 or 9 and I had to call them all before I figured out which one knew him.
