Well, the names in that ped come in black, green, blue and red.
I would love to call this a scatter breeding, as I often do, but it's not really.
But you can't see it, so it's all good.

Lol I got a buddy that subscribes to a lot of ole Maurice's beliefs! One of the first things he told me was, you can sell them the cake but it ain't none of their business how you baked it, if you tell them how you baked it well then what in the hell they gonna need you for!!!

Most people frown on dog men hanging papers on dogs I believe carver did it from the stories I've been told...and look at honeybunch supposedly off of bullyson who threw predominantly black dogs ...and honeybunch is a buckskin who threw mosltly buckskin dogs...hmmm and carvers amber honeybunchs dam...you can't find amber in any other dogs pedigree can you??? The reason behind this is they never wanted anyone else to get the combination to lock in all the tumblers as to what produced..think Maurice wanted everyone else to breed good dogs like him? Took him all his life to get where he was didn't want some newcomer to learn in a year how to make same breedings as him and carver didn't want nobody else to compete with his line of dogs...it was highly competitive back then when the law wasnt so hard...more competitive than even now..but that really screws up the pedigrees for everyone else who wants to build a bloodline for themselves. ..

 

As for scatter bred dogs...only scatterbred dog I ever saw that produced well was headhunters dracula...who produced gr.ch.solution when bred to a pure Don Devine dog..I had a half brother to gr.ch.solution off of dracula named grunt who was game as hell.. just didn't have a lot of ability. ..Draculas father ...otto Otto was a good producer even being scatterbred he produced bulldog ps ch rebel as well as headhunters dracula..who was never matched but he stopped many dogs otc.. so yes it can be done but is very rare

Jeep certainly isn't Scatter bred...Lets look at some who are.

 

Scatter bred means a bunch of different lineage's of hounds.

 

Thats what I was asking , how many different line does it take to be scatter bred ?

 

If the performer produces well I dont think it matters..jmo
