Use to be a guy on here that bred those Eddington dogs back into some Old Family Red Nose dogs. He weight pulled with them. I can't remember his name. It may be the effect of birthdays.

His OFRN dogs were in the 40's and the crossed dogs were in the 80's-90's. He lost a lot of muzzle length with the cross and most of those dogs could not breathe all that well. In time he found the larger dogs were not pulling the weight per pound of his others. In time they faded. Thinking back I guess it could have been Dogue Bordeaux type dogs. I was thinking more along the lines of AB crosses but the colors were all red. Very Possible they were French Mastiff induced.

I sold him a carpet mill and he invited me to a weight pull he was putting on at his place. First time I ever saw a pull in person and the first time for a hang time event. I was blown away at what a 40lb. dog could pull.

I have read that he was beat with a weight pull trophy...or a hammer...they could not determine...crazy

Think about what you're saying...beat to death with a weight pull trophy? Trophies are made with plastic, wood and most times a thin slab of marble. Eddie was a small but very stout man, I'm sure he could take care of himself, he was no punk. Someone trying to beat him with a light fragile ass trophy probably would have had one helluva fight on their hands.

Plus it never stated how many people or if he was caught off guard only takes one good hit on the right spot to knock someone out then after that it’s a wrap

The part of this trophy story missing from this thread is "they beat his ass with then put the trophy up his ass before they tossed him out the window"... "over always winning weight pulls"

I think its was more than likely a robbery gone awry that any of the sensational stories attached to it.

I'm sure everyone remembers the game "telephone"... I'm sure poor mr eddington death and the story of it has been a very morbid game of telephone as the story has been told.

I wasn't tryig to be technical. Eddie was a weight pull guy, I doubt he had any conformation cups.

When he was killed the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and the murder weapon that was found at the scene was a hammer. There were weight pull trophies in the living room (on display) covered in blood. This is where I'm sure the story got misconstrued over the years.

2 men seen in the area, both black one tall in stature with a slender build the other stocky with a heavily muscular build. If you were around back then one of the men's description matches a fella who pulled in the heavy weight class alongside Eddie. The murder was never solved.

Well as you can see by others posts...you were off and I was spot on with my recalling the story...truth...or what was read or added by the people..or stories.
As i have said...dead men dont tell stories...live ones do.

And yes..you are getting very technical..cup...trophy...same thing in my book. A direct shot...can push a button..no matter how ya see it...hammer or trophy.
Im sure the motive was the same regardless. Cheers

I will add in my 2 cent. Lol. Thus is a dam shame and my condolences go out to this mans family. Regardless of what object were used hammer, trophy ECT . I can promise everyone one thing is certain. Depending on The Sport one may be involved in where you have earned a Trophy or many for that matter I have 8 that will knock holes in a mans head. See pic. One plastic and marble as Redboy/Jocko was referring to , (that want) it would fall apart. ..

Those are pretty substantial tropies @corvettedex !
The weight pull ones are very light weight, only substantial part is the wood or marble base which is usually very small.

It was an unfortunate loss for a lot of folks, and for selfish unjust reasons (dogs) for one to lose their life. Vicki has since passed as well, both were super sweet people.

As i said..read..not hearesay..and my recall of it was good.. murky as the story is. Some may know what was used..others may have read about it..other may not ..guess they never found out...watch the weight pullers...they may slam a hammer in ya ass...bottum line i guess.

No asshat you actually said "it must have been a hammer then"
I'm not recalling what I read, stories or what others have stated I knew the Eddington's somewhat and recall the story very well as I did not live far from them and had many friends in common.

I don't know why you want to fucking argue over this, you were parroting shit, I corrected you in a respectful way. So how about show this thread some respect and stfu already.
