Should I check her out?

I need another dog right now like I need a hole in the head. But, a friend of mine is looking for rescue puppies and I found this girl while helping my friend search. She's a mutt up for adoption at a local rescue organization. They aren't brick and mortar, they are foster only, which I like. I don't want to do the puppy thing again. Can't hurt to reach out to them, right? My fear is health issues. My current pup (poorly bed) has horrible environmental allergies, it's costly both financially and emotionally.
Anway, here's a pic of the dog I'm thinking about.

 

Always a option. Do research. Meet dog.
Choice is yours. Asking folks online cant justify the work that it will entail.
Some great dogs in shelters..and some that simply should not be saved.
If you get a good feeling...go for it..but because you want to.......

 

I agree, my favorite dog was a shelter dog mutt. Thanks for the advice mccoy.
I did submit an application for the hell of it, to at least meet the dog and got denied.
Not to go into huge detail but the rescue was very offended that my current bitch is still intact and made reference that I was going to cause behavioral problems between two females because of that. I tried to talk about the recent research that leaving dogs intact at least until maturity is healthier for them and even my vet agreed, and that aggression in bull breeds comes whether or not the dogs are intact. I mentioned being familiar with and comfortable crating and rotating, but I got a really snarky "well, it's your dog do what you want" back, with the same behavioral issue song and dance. Guess it wasn't meant to be. Just sucks because the rescue dog could've had a good home. Feel bad about that.

 

A lot of the time its the rescue folks that seem to do the most damage..and are ignorant to their own justified reasoning..
Seen it many times...they think they are doing good....but in fact they spread crap on toast and sell it...

 

I'm noticing it more and more myself. I used to foster 10 years ago before I had kids and have tried to keep active in those circles but admittedly have gotten busy and slipped from that scene. Even in the short amount of time I've noticed they're not the saints I always thought they were. I just have to ask myself, have things really changed or have I finally taken off my rose-colored glasses.
