Not really, it's about the volume & most peddlers have produced THEIR SHARE of good dogs. They wouldn't stay in business if they didn't.

 

The Skipper/Wise/Texas Minnie blood was proven beyond doubt, just not by Ed Reid!. We should acknowledge the input of men like Wesley, Stubblefield, Wise and Freeman 'prior' to Ed Reid and be grateful to the UK dogmen who proved those dogs 'after', but the fact remains without Reid putting his time and money into importing and breeding them, we'd have been stuck with the other stuff! Gr.Ch.Bill is now pretty much accepted as the greatest UK dog of modern times, even the haters know it, only sometimes they choose to ignore that Bill's sire (buster) was born at Stockquest out of Reid's Skipper x Lady and there's nothing anyone can do to change it.

 

I know the man who was the closest i ever got to a mentor,who was at core of the game before all the shit went down,was very high on the dog on my avatar,r kenns gr ch badger,him and his partner watched most of his matches used him at stud,etcgot a few winners down off him,and despite the dog being fairly scatterbred,strongly believed that the main genetic influence o n that dog was skipper.I know he is not thought of as a skipper dog,but i saw a few dogs bred down from him including my own,and they had skippers stamp all over them.turtle buster stubblefields buddy they all look very similar.

Thing is though .... i know they were proven before ed got them but it was still a gamble as they could have been curs ? Oldguy was skippers sire and dam tested do you know ?

 

Or any of the othets ed imported .... where they from tested stock ?

No dogs now soze,if i did i certainly wouldnt be on this forum,big brothers always watching mate.having dogs at the end was akin to harbouring jews in nazi occupied europe.They were even raiding people around my way for keeping American bulldogs.not surprised what happened though all the idiots and wannabe gangsters,who got hold of them.

 

I no stedz.its feckin hot..a few years back a man was killed by a big dog.it was not a bulldog,it was a mastif mut.but the law started taking any dog they could.there was a huge crack down on dangerous dogs.the thing is,the dog wat committed the horrible crime was left to roam at free will.after it had killed somebody THEN the law started taking everyones dogs??........as for the wana be gangsters?..they have properly put more dangerous mutts on the street then any one.selling dogs to any one,and saying there a bulldog when there not.selling these must to people like them self's who don't no any thing about any dog!then wen something bad happens,the bulldog breed gets the blame!..truly terrible.......

@ Reid's Skiipper.. Sorry mate! I never went in for all the perfect ped stuff, it's just a brain fuck for me! If we lived in USA or Balkans we'd have infinite access to great bloodlines and crosses, but in the UK during the 80's, striving to compete with what we could lay our hands on.. It was like trying to build a house without cement or a spirit level.. Breedings got done that *on paper* should never have been done and they produced monsters! Was it good blood or just good luck? I don't know and really don't care! I never pass judgement on any breeding another dogman does because even though I might not understand it myself, the other guy obviously sees something in it.. Since this is an Ed Reid thread, look at Ch.Sheena Black, stopped on top going for her GR.CH and dismissed as a cur since.. Was Sheena Black a cur? She wasn't dead game that's for sure, but a cur? Can a 4xw be reffered to as a cur, I don't know? She was the best producing female I ever knew that's for sure and if she was a cur, then I'm happy to breed to curs and fuck what anyone else says! Same goes for Hollingsworth's Buzz who's sire (Ch.Gatorson) stopped on Duhon's yard, and Garret's Jeep who's sire (Bo) stopped against Vindicator and who's grand sire (bullyson) stopped against Benny Bob.. I just hope Crenshaw and Garret thought the same way I do.. 'Don't show me a better pedigree, show me a better dog!'
