    Hello,

Im thinking about getting a new pup soon, i have owned and sheltered diffrent breeds as apbt, ambulldog, ebt, amstaff, dogo argentino.

My ebt is getting old and deaf, and it will not be a matter of years before i will lose him.:(

I love apbt but these guys are not as good for guard and pp as some other breeds, i have interrest in a bandog but i find them mostly a lil big for my taste (but i love em) i would love to own a compact athletic (midsized) bandog, i know allot of people disagree with having pits crossed and bred for guard and pp, i know some people are scared because it brings there breed in danger when a pit type dog hits the news, manbiter etc. but its a lil ironic they still use them for other things with all the other risks and dangers that come with it (and if it wasnt for crossing there wouldnt have bin pits and so much great breeds at all.

I know allot of people want there bandogs big/huge/scary but like i said a pitbull body is perfect, and i have seen some bandogs more compact and athletic.
Big heavy dogs have more risks having problems with hips etc.
My dog will live in my house and take em with me so a horse sized dog is not an option for me.

Any suggestions? are there breeders that breeding them compact, athletic?

Any specific things i need to know about?
Im looking forward to your opinions and advice.

I don't have experience with a bandog but can't go wrong with a GSD or Malinois

I replied to your other thread so I'll be nice and reply to this one..Next time just ask a mod to move your thread to the correct section.Take a look at chimura kennels .I like what he is doing with his dogs so he would be a strong consideration for me..Also he is a member here so you could pull him up through the search function. Not sure if I spelled his name right but you should be able to Google .

Same here. Once my GSD passes, I'm going with a dogo or a american bulldog. I have some years before that happens though. He's turning 6 this year.

A well bred dogo argentino or ambulldog are both great dogs, but why specificly a dogo or ambulldog?

I've never laid hands on a dogo but I've seen some videos and read up a good amount on them like what I see. I've had my hands and have grown up with some American bulldogs in my day and I like those as well but some of the reasons would be personality, strength, fur ( I have a GSD),Family oriented. The list goes on. Also to be quite honest, I like the look of them.

I know performance is more importand and than looks and color.
Iff you meant the hairloss and grooming on your gsd☺
When it comes to white fur/coat i have owned some white dogs and there coat seems a lil diffrent and more sensitive from the colored dogs
also hairloss on whites seems to be more. (I was told no pigment was the cause)

After all the whites want my next dog to have color for a change.

It is but hey- a performance dog that looks good and sheds less is awesome in my book. It's like the Wild West here with tumble weeds of fur.

You mentioned ebt,,,,how about ebt cross,,,ebt are pretty much an all around dog.You like compact find a well bred OEB olde English bulldogge,,,,just there looks alone will scare any crook away.I'm also stuck on bulldogs no other dog for me.For guard dogs I also like medium height compact dogs.I'm thinking a pit cross or a well bred bandog.

Haha i remember the thumbles of hair from my long haired old germ. Shepherd..only the sound was missing when a thumble rolled by.
bulldogs have a better coat for living inside the house, iff they got proper food and healt there hairloss is minimum..

My ebt is a great dog, not so much a natural guardogbut he learned allot of tricks and things thats importand to me, huge dog in compactsize.
allot of animal aggresion but gets allong with my parrot
ebt cross can be nice but finding a good bred cross is rare...seen some nice hunting crosses

A midzise pitbull mix with good human suspission would work best for me

english bulldog type dogs are not my cup of tea, i need a dog that can sport and is not too heavy boned

At what weight you feel a dog is too heavy to sport? over a 100lbs? or 90lbs? What height you feel is a good height for a dog?

    Inkman Pup

Its not that a 100lbs dog cant sport offcourse they will have more weight to put in and iff build well its still fast...but to me 70/85 is ideal...lightning fast, and still able to hit hard...and its easyer to bring a smaller dog with you than a semi horse...but again this is personal..

you think 24 inch at the shoulders is big? or compact?

24" Its the height of a dutch shepherd 55/60cm thats a nice height for a guard dog.

  17. If I remember a while ago a guy named lucero was making some good bandogs. Not sure if he is still around
