I'd be buyin' that old man a nice Christmas present. He sure as hell gave YOU one. LOL Nice work, and congratulations. A great ending to a bad story, the beginning of which, had hurtful connotations. Be ready for any next time. I'm sure you will. Congrats again, Catch.

  2. Thanks TDK. He hooked me up indeed! Me and him are down like 4 flats. I do some work on his place that he cant do cause he has a hard time moving around, and he hooks me up with meat when he butchers a cow and fresh veg from his garden. Happy day for me and my boy. Not so happy for mr robber.

Quick question....Did you know the guy before now? In a town that small I'd assume you did?

  4. Yeah. I knew him personally. He hadn't been out to my place before but I know now who told him about the dog. He squealed like a pig. That's my next stop after work. He wasn't on my list of "suspects" either. Just goes to show you.

Great news, i am so pleased you got him back!!!! I need to look into micro chip for my dog. I never want to experiance my dog being stolen. I really think i would be in jail if someone did that to me. I hate low life MFS. zero tolerance for that. Again.....i am so happy for you!!!!

But what about the thief . Punishment, he needs Punishment .
I would figure if you cant prove he took dog, then all he has to say is I found dog walking stray.
    ---------------
I hope you got cops involved to slow him down .

Like I mentioned I had a theft of tools silver copper brass gold and people even saw the strange car in driveway
yet can't prove person in car . The cops did talk to owner of car (put the scare in to him)
& thats all they could do . Anyway the thieving did stop what a wonder !

    Happy for you good ending

Nothing personal just a thought, I'd refrain saying things like going to his place and etc.. just in case things don't out the way you planned don't get caught up with premeditated assault or battery charges because you handled your business in public. Either way glad you got em back.

Great to hear you got him back... and as far as the assault issue if you ever plan on assaulting someone it wouldn't matter if you wrote a letter to him and then done it or if you did it and he just went to the police and he claimed you did so when you go to assault someone just have bail money handy and lawyer money and hope you do a good enough job he is afraid to go to the police in fear you will do it again or hope you don't kill him in the process lol

  13. No police. The thief's "informant" is someone I deal with on a regular basis. I was able to inflict lots of pain on him without physically harming him. As far as the thief. He should have kept his self on a better keep. Thanks again everyone for the concern. My boy is back at home fat and happy eating elk steak. By next weekend he'll have eyes on him 24/7.

They're worthless more times than not. the person who finds your dog has to have the scanner for that brand of chip or it don't pick it up and many places use different brands of microchips. Personally I think tattooing or branding is a better method but none of them are a save all.

Glad the OP got his hound back, that's a good ending to the story!

I've wondered the same thing about different brands AGK but everybody who I've ever asked vets, pound workers, etc say that they read whatever brand it is.

Things may have changed but when I did my internship for a local vet here back in 01 only the chips brands reader will detect it and they all used different brands. Again, I could be wrong since what I posted was how it was in the earlier part of the microchip craze late 90's - early 2000's. Things always evolve so maybe they do now? I don't waste my time with it personally. Now if they could be tracked by gps, I would definitely do it but I don't believe that is done just yet.

Most of my info came from a few years back. I got a chip in both my dogs now and the vet who I go to told me that as well but you never know if he was being totally honest, although he seems to be very straight forward and honest so far. I don't claim to know the truth either, was just mentioning what I've been told. I figure it gives me a better shot then not having one at all but I definitely understand the thought of not getting one also. That's a good idea about gps, might wanna patent it real quick lol.

It would solve the thieving problem a little, until people just ended up learning how to find and remove them that is. I find having just one that will fuck you up if you get back in that area, to be a better insurance policy than any other way for myself and my situation anyway. I don't advocate for or even care much for man eaters personally but they have a good use too sometimes. Mine is more leery of people he don't know well but you walk back there without me and end up finding out why we call him Chain Yankin Charlie. lol
