You can buy an AI kit and do it yourself. Is the female flaging?

If you haven't seen him "hard", why do you want to breed him?
On a different note, be patient in yet another way. Fret the dog by putting heat scent on a hanky or napkin and introduce it to his nose. Hold it there and let him get interested in it. You may have to do this repeatedly for days, weeks, a month...more.
Of course, AI is an alternative, too. It shouldn't take anyone long to learn the tricks of doing it. You have to be careful, and know what you're doing in order not to do any damage to your bitch.
Be patient. Learn how. As mentioned, the equipment is inexpensive.
I've had dogs that I deemed a must breed. They were not about to mount a bitch. Eventually, we got them done. It just takes time and your patience.

AI is not that expensive. If you do not have the money to do AI, you probably do not have enough money to properly whelp a litter. If you are having that many problems with him and you are broke, just eliminate him from the breeding program and get a more cost effective stud.

tape the males mouth and place the female under him while you have him lifted in the air with the females head in between your legs clamped....as soon as you place him down and grab his dick and get him to pumpin

I had one that was close to 5 yr old, many tried to breed him and couldn't . I got it out by doing the jacking and did that about 2 times per week, when he figured out that I chained him where if the female turned with her back to him he could stick his toungue out and just touch her twat. When she started flagging I put her in a breed stand got my son to hold him back while I place her inside his chain space then released him. He was interested in one thing and he got it. After that he did it once a day the next 5 days. After he gets that nut he may calm down a little at a time. Just my experience with one like that'

Re: Good dogs are where you find em'

Here's part of my point once again..............The dog admittedly hasn't been looked at "hard". If someone can have a proven mutt, and the dog is of this mode (still to wild to breed), and this person can be patient in order to get the dog(s) bred, and bred over and over again, then why the rush and the gymnastics to get this one bred before it is proven? I see no clear sense in hurrying to breed this dog, and go through all the gyrations at THIS stage.
To me, the choices are clear enough. Do it wrong and in a hurry, don't do it at all if he doesn't make the grade, or wait and do it right if he does. It ain't brain surgery.

In a nutshell, here's what the question asks, to me. "I have a dog I shouldn't be breeding just yet and he won't breed. What should I do?" Kind of moot. LOL

Admittedly, the dog hasn't been looked at "hard". So, to me, this question merely says: "I have a dog I really shouldn't be breeding just yet, and he won't breed. What should I do?" Rather moot, IMO.

Rethink how he means "hard." I believe he meant it as in sexually "hard."

Point taken. He could mean that. I hope so. LOL Not much clarity there.
