think of it like the casino's, you might be the best blackjack or poker man in the world but if you cant afford them 5k tables you go sit your ass at the $25 table. Dont mean them other guys are scared bc they won't come face you at the $25 table. I know a guy who says between food, supplements and equipment he spends $600 in keep, so he not going for anything that won't at least pay his keep 2x. Bc it's his time spent, away from work and everything else. His table starts at 1500 and that is if you are known.. Many big table winners go for 300-1k but won't do it against nobodies or someone without major references.

I cant verify that either. I was just posting part of the interview. But i do know that Hardcore Kennels are very much legit and top competitors.

I said Ken would match for 50 grand or a thousand and there was more like him. How is that not sporting.I didn't have 50 gs.I'm just saying when people say this person ducked this person sometimes its other factors that go into it.Its called match making, right weight, site, travel, area and many other things. But I do think if u don't think your dog has the style to beat a certain dog ,you would be fool to go into the match.

That is wat I was saying if u have seen this hound go and u call him out but say it gotta be for more the. Wat I paid for my house or u cant do it and u know I cant make that purse but I tell u I can do a 25% of that then shit give e those odds lol they then say no and I have so.e good friend that have been asking me to let them back me and I have been telling the no for sometime! Then I call them in to back me on the rest that I just didnt have and the wanna put more of it up and now the other side dont want to do it at that price and then the price was brought back down to wat they had wanted to do it for and contact now numbers are changed
wat that say u just wanted to look like the better one at that weight cause they thought I could never come up with that kinda of money and once I did I chased that ass for over a year only to be told their noe retired to breeding that was being ducked I could carelss about wat ur names are if u call me out at my weight thats telling me u wanna dance nomatter wat number are there like I said before u can only hide behind the money for so long shit if u have a good one and I have a good one we could do it for the cost of the keep! But that a time long ago! Love to talk on the history of bulldog just think of how many good ones never get their chance to rise to the top because the owner could only aford to get on or two done!

Majority of the time matches arent made by calling out a certain dog. Most of the time its opening up a weight and hooking into someone with like terms.. date, ref, and money. I dont why someone would call out a certain dog just to duck him. Let the sleeping beast rest. If youre scared of him dont go throwing ro cks to wake and bother him just so you have to end up running away.

Haven't read all the way through but I was once told and firmly believe that the dog is 35% the rest is management. Long ago these dogs were Tudor's Lightner's Conklin's etc called after the man behind them. Nowadays they are jeep bolio buck called after dogs a phenomenon born of hypers and mass marketers. Confidence in one's own ability to call the right weight put it in shape and bring it healthy and correct will allow one to move free of ducking. You open a weight not a picture name or pedigree, newer requirements.

It takes all kinds. There are a ton of posts in the breeder and the bloodline section about a guy who has sold more dogs that maybe anyone. His dogs are expensive. Some swear by him, some swear because of him, and some swear at him. I can tell you about the times when he would bring his dog to a phone booth for just enough to make the phone call and the next time it would be half way across the country for big money. Then times change. Establish the name and the line and the puppies are far more profitable and a lot less illegal. Times change. People change. S

Times have for sure changed! The good thimg is we still have our breed to do other things with! Nothing like having a family of hounds that u can the history on and say I chased so and so with his grandsire for more then a1 1/2years !

I could careless who won biggest purses and who had what.... You truly see exceptional animals from time to time that are head and shoulders Above the rest but for the most part it's a pretty level playing field

  13. You know you ducking, if when you come to my camp with only champs but you match your 2 yrs dogs 1st time out against other camps but alway got 3xw and 4xw for my dog 1st time out. Wanting a pot I can't catch. I believe I can walk that ass down and kill a champ

I would say raising the pot on you just to avoid going into you ducking. As far as them only showing champs into you, i call that them knowing they have to bring their best to compete. That happens VERY often but i look at it as a compliment.

Your not really thinking like a competitive kennel.
I would welcome the Ch or gr Ch... Their dog has more miles on his clock. Each outing takes it toll. Hopefully I'd have home advantage and a less damaged dog. As long as he was schooled right.

Be hard on your dog like the Plumber Boys ... Unlike them papered hounds that folks are gunna show right coz its in the breeding. LMFAO

Theres 2 ways of looking at it. Being ch or gr ch may mean more mileage and a greater toll or it may mean more mileage and greater experience. Pre 76 there was a dog who won her sixth show against a good and young gyp in her prime. The old girl was 7yrs old and knew how to use that pit.

  18. I don't see why you would risk a good dog, run an expensive keep, and risk possible vet bill or atty least expensive meds for a bag of dog food. Makes no sense up me.

Ok let me ask everyone a ''?'' Lets say its 1974 and u have the badest bitch of her time you won 6 all before she turned 3yeats of age! You had her weight open to the world lets say 31lb she was open not to just the north or south but the world and for 5years you have no takers that whole 5years you kept her pretty much ready to go did only one breeding with her and she thru a grch! Now the female is 8 1/2 and gets called out but u fell is has past her prime so u say no! Because u would like to try to get a few more breedings outta her! Now is that ducking? And by they way u go to see the one that called u out go and she packs it in early! Could it be said that u ducked because u still had her weight out there then when someone did call u thought about it that it if she would have only one puppy and he gets 7 of his own u have better start breeding be for it get to late! Question is am I ducking for changing my mind last min?

If you idiotically took the weight then you should honour it otherwise it will come across as ducking, but there's a hell of a difference between working stock and brood stock. At 8 yrs of age you've got to be an idiot matching her again, especially so if she already produced a gr ch after one litter.
