    Well, I know, another month and late again on the magazine. I love writing this section, because it has no actual topic and I can write about anything I wish. So this month, beside others, I will explain why the magazine is late. And you’re going to like it! Although we’re late again, every cloud has a silver lining and besides a massive change in size (from A4 to 8.25”x10.75”) and layout, after decades existing as a twocolor magazine, the print edition of the Sporting Dog Journal is finally going into full color. This may seem long overdue to some, but contrary to the World Wide Web, where any Tom, Dick or Harry can put up a color publication, print magazines have a different financial burden altogether but now you can have it in full color for the same price! Our advertising rates are also lower than anyone else in the business!

    The Sporting Dog Journal has held a flagship position for several decades and I’m hoping that slowly but surely it will reach that status again. I’ve heard some say it’s not the same as Jack Kelly’s version. I won’t argue with that. They are indeed right and there is a simple explanation for this:

    * Times have changed, get with it!
    * I’m not Jack Kelly.

    The editorial philosophy of the magazine reflects my own personal taste. What I do is I put out what I would like to read, what I would like people to know. What is examined within these covers is a factual dog through fictional articles. I make no effort at attempting to authenticate anything that is printed, therefore nothing between these covers should be treated as anything more than hearsay. The following essays are published for their amusement and educational value only and historic
