ear cropping new york

Ive got a 12 week old pup. I would like to get his ears done. I called all vets in area. 1 does cropping but not pitbulls. One told me no vets in NY will crop any dogs ears unless for show. I'll be getting my other pup at end of february and wanted both pups ears done. the current pups ears are gonna end up being erect bat ears. help!:dogkiss:

 

What do they mean by show,your taking them to the show and have to prove it or they will only do a show cut as not a box cut.
