i dont hunt with cheap fucking FMJ ammo... i dont know anyone who does, its fucking stupid to puch pinhole entry/exit wounds and chase a deer for a mile waiting for it to bleed out, when i could just hit it in the vitals with an expanding bullet and it drops in yards. buying premium soft point or hollow point bullets and loading rolling your own is still cheaper than going to the local sporting goods store and paying $30-$40 for a box of 20 "premium" factory loaded. I only posted the .223 prices because the price was posted for 100 bullets(reloading components).

By the way, the key to a quick kill is bullet placement. If you don't hit anything vital, exploding rounds won't bring anything down in short order.

With the right placement, a .22 LR will bring something down in short order.

    Brown Bear ammo is crap.
i dont shoot steel case shit... for one it can be hard on your extractor, and for two, i reload...meaning i save brass.

placement has never been an issue with me, so you arent exactly telling me something i dont already know. ;) i practice with my carry guns as well as a couple hunting rifles a couple times a week.

but i like every advantage i can get and using proper quality ammo definitely gives you the best chance at dropping a critter RIGHT NOW. so again i say, i dont hunt with junk ammo, i prefer bullets designed to do the job as quickly and cleanly as possible. clean humane kills and respecting the animal you are hunting is always my #1 priority. ive never lost a deer i shot and left it do die slowly somewhere in a field.

agreed...i always practice with what i carry, as do most who carry a firearm for self defense, but honestly wasnt aware of the fact that the SSA has the need for guns and ammo. are there armed guards in a social security office? not being a smartass, i dont think ive ever been in one, so im curious. thats why i tiltled the thread "is the SSA afraid of seniors?" LOL
