Athletic dogs

Can anyone share photos of your dogs structures and videos of their athletic abilities please?

I dont have any adault pics but my most stocky unathletic LOOKING dog is by far my most athletic dog. She is N.Toby/Herman/Nigerino. My Goodie dog(RIP) was the most atletic dog ive ever owned Norrods Hemphill blood on top M.Morgan Hemphill/ wilder (heavy red bruser)Blood on bottom.

 

Do you guys think there are any physical features that enable performance or is it on the dog's heart and personality?

 

It Physical features, and it's called conformation.

 

apbt`s can overcome some conformation issues, but those issues add to the importance of lung strength/endurance as well as the dogs disposition towards the job its given.

 

I get that, but from what it seems it is all about people's taste. Some of the dogs look like bulldogs others look like whippets. So I want to see if there are any athletic differences between the types of structures.

 

there can be think of it like wrestling you got the short thicker guys and then you got the long thin guys they both do different things based on their builds bulldawgs r no different

 

Looking at pictures only gives you a single 2-d image. View the dog moving and it will tell the truth and show you weakness in the dogs structure.

Thanks for the contributions, Sadie should do a profile video shoot of the dogs running to see if we can find any differences. Although the girl is still a pup right?

 

your always gonna be able to find differences in these dogs conformation what they look like and how they work seldom have anything to do with one another really it was one of the first things i ever learned about gamebred dogs

That's a beautiful dog ! can you tell us more about its abilities. What are the dog's strengths, and weaknesses ?

From my observation I can see it has good muzzle for air intake, and a long body for speed. Do you have any video of the dog?

 

You will find differences, but there is a standard, and that standard was put in place by men who were there and seen what type of dogs were winning. Look up some of your favorite famous dogs, and look at their conformation. Conformation, is not the end all be all of game dogs, but form is function. If your not built for the job, it makes it harder for you.

 

And that dog has great conformation according to that pic.
