Hello my friend, it's hard for me to explain this genetic tests in English (you do not understand Italian? Hahahaha) and I hope to do it ...

The T.A.G. is not a working trial, but a test that evaluates the innate genetic quality of the bulldogs (as many other "fighting" breeds) do not need any specific training for the dog, and can either be done on puppies. For dogs that are physically and mentally mature this test is unique, that is, once we know that 99% if the dog is genetically endowed with the fundamental characteristics of temperament which must have a "fighting" dog. Instead, if a puppy does not pass the test, may be reviewed at an older age (approximately two years of age) because they may have a good genetics, but being a dog that is slow growth in his character.

The test is not violent, does not damage or change the character of the dog that does this: the test takes a few minutes and assess the instinctive response to certain physical and mental stress, such as the serenity of the bulldog against a foreign person, the resistance to pressure made in a particular area of its snout (indifference and resistance to the "pain"), his serenity after this pressure. Then a qualified dog-trainer approaches the dog is suddenly, without warning, has a contact with an offensive tool, "touching" in a particular area of the body of the dog. This second test is to assess the dog's ability to react to an unexpected attack, his mental toughness and physical and instinctive pleasure in fighting an "enemy" in his eyes, is bigger and stronger than him.

This test was designed about 20 years ago by an Italian dog trainer (Mr. Maurizio Ceracchi) specializing in preparing fighting dogs (ADBA, Argentinian Dogo, American Bulldog, SBT, etc.) for the work of real war (police and military). The peculiar thing is that in these 20 years, and after testing thousands of puppies and adult dogs, it was found that dogs that had passed the test, were also good hunting dogs (badger, fox, boar, etc.). Of course the test does not tell us if the dog is 100% game (this only the real work on animals can tell us), but it certainly gives us the genetic information (useful and true) on the essential skills that every Bulldog should have to be defined as such. There were so many things to say about the test, its history and the qualities that are evaluated in dogs, but for me it is very difficult to do in a language that is not my ...

    Best regards

How valid is this test, in that, does it measure what it is supposed to measure? As well as reliable; does it do it accurately time after time?

Hello we enter into a very delicate because, like any test or working activities, the result may be influenced by various factors both inside and outside of the dog thet doing the test. Certainly, as the judge looks at the test, is strict in assessing the reactions of the dog, as the test approaches reality. One thing must be said. The test evaluates only the natural qualities of the dog, her instinctive behavior bulldog. So it's much closer to reality than a test "built" to "win" the "master" of the dog. I would say that experience tells us that the reliability of the test is very close to 100%, then that can affect the dog in the future is uniquely its own poor management.
