I will be going to the Illinois Fox Valley Show this day. I was kinda wishing yalls show was a 2 event so that we could check it out on the second day. Hope the dates fall different next time. Would have been cool to say hello and see some of those Reds.

Fox Valley is a 2 day show. I normally go to it.
It is the only one we all go to anymore of ADBA.
I don't go to AADR shows no more.
In the last 8 years there has been 6 major fights at the Detroit Shows.
Around Motown, sooner or later some one will end up shot.
Dan is asking Carmen Corvino to Judge the fun classes.

Maybe Sunday we will make a road trip and see all the old friends.
OFRNR kept checking the dates so none would over lap,
but ADBA never updated the site until it was to late.

I guess people will follow their interest. Many who hosted the Michiana ADBA & Bearcat State AADR Shows and the APBTPS will be coming to the OFRNR Show.

I know the show ig going to be the 9th too. Dont know if the ADBA site has updated or not. Last time I looked, it had not been on there.
I read someplace that Carmen Corvino was going to be there. Would be so cool to shake hands with the both of yall.
I am pretty sure Fox Valley is one day, two shows. That is why I was trying to see if yours was Saturday and Sunday.
I plan on going up Friday night, and camping out with the Club. That would be cool to see you all Sunday. We may stay Saturday night also, just incase. :)
Either way - wish you all the best for your event, and sorry we could not make both, because it sounds like fun.

Re: OFRNR First National Dog Show & Treadmill Race. 6-9-12

    Ours is Saturday.
I thought theirs' was both days. I thought I read that somewhere.
I know Dan wants to BS with Bushwick, my road dog. LOL And see Ready 2 Rumble,
    Red Reign, ect.
That is why I thought I might roll that way with some peeps.

As I already posted Dan wants Carmen to judge the Fun Classes.
He has done that before for us.
Dan also wants to bring Kenny Gaines along with him.
He hasn't seen him in awhile since the Derbys. :)
I talked to Kenny a few months back, he wasn't feeling all that good so I don't think he will making it.

Jim Nelson will be there of Island City Combine (I.C.C.).
    And our regulars. :)
I been trying to get Ron Carter to judge the treadmill race but he hasn't agreed to it.
He is still upset how things went with him and Judy when they hosted the AADR shows with very little to no help.
If I knew Judy was involved I would have help her out.
She is an old friend and a Union Sister.
For that matter I didn't know Ron was hosting it.
As for being involved with AADR, the APBTPS wouldn't sponsor Bearcat State AADR Shows anymore.
There was issues when TL still owned it.
I haven't been to one close to 7 or 8 years.

Last ADBA show I was at was in IL. a couple years ago when they had their last one.
Other then that it was some years ago I was IN. to meet up some people from PA. on business, stop in and Katie was just done judging and want to me to stay & BS.
I talked to Joe before he started to judge.

I talked to Patty today by phone and she invited me to come their National in N.C.
I haven't been west of the big river in a lot of years. I was going to go to NV. last Feb. to check out some land.
I want to move out there and thought I would stop in UT. and say hello and see Danger too. :)

Well good luck and hope you win no matter which show you go too as long as you have a good time. :)
I know we sure do! lol

Thanks for bringing us all up to speed on whats going on with the show.

I swear pretty much anybody I talk to is moving down south these days..... It is way too expensive up here and pretty soon all will be down there!.
I wish all the dates just happened to fall different. Good to see things are going good for the OFRNR and you all.
If you or Lynn find time to post some pictures on here, we would all love it very much!!

I not moving because of expense.
I'm tried of having every one sticking their nose up people ass to see what they are eating!
    The laws are unbelieveable.
I will say when a state starts to tax people's retirement checks that going to far!
You are taxed when you earn it, claimed on the Federal Income Tax, now State Tax and 6% tax when you buy something! Tax 4 times on the money!

Wish the dates were different I'm also going to ADBA in IL. Would've loved to come and watch since none of my dogs are 25% OFRN.

It is a shame what happened to the MI clubs, especially the AADR. Judy is a stand up person and we always helped Ron in WP but we bought a house last year and couldn't make it to help them out.

I can understand where you are coming from. Illinois is just as broke. They stealing money around here too I.M.
I have no knowledge of how things actually are there in the south, but have seen some prices for the houses down there. Shoot even my small time but would live large for the work I do. It is sad how much different it is.

Either here or there, I'm sure our paths will finally cross someday. It'll be my delight.

Re: OFRNR First National Dog Show & Treadmill Race. 6-9-12

JRSPITS I wish ADBA had updated the page on show news sooner so this didn't happen.
On the OFRNR forum it has been known a while the date and it was chosen before IL. date.
But things like this just happens.
I'm not to concerned. We are in it for the long haul as I have been all my life.
There will always be a show with OFRNR.
Hopefully we won't have to skip a year as IL. did last year.
As 1 of the money men behind the Michiana & Beatcat State shows I know how hard and how much it costs to put on a show for those registries.
Our show is a small fraction of the cost from insurance to rental, bringing in and paying the judges, ect.
This is why there will be free registration, free entry prize gift drawing, more experince known judges, ect.

BTW I talked to Red Reign Kennels yesterday and they will be coming up from Chicago to our show. :)
The last IL. show he took first place in the 5 and over class.
Good luck, hope you win something. :)

Re: OFRNR First National Dog Show & Treadmill Race. 6-9-12

I lived down South many times. I lived on and off in Texas.
I went to school in Texas City, hung around LaMarc and the area known as the "Killing Fields".
    My Ironworkers Local is there.
I knew a lot of people in and out of the dogs around there and still do.
My father died in Texas and was born in the mountains of TN.
In fact there is a mountain in TN. with our last name on it.
Family still owns land in Southern AL.
I would like to live in Southern NV. :)
    Hopefully some day I will.
If not I might go over into D.R. and stay there part time.
I might head that way this year for a short vacation.

As a member of the Palmetto State APBT Club (one clubs hosting this years Nationals) I would like to invite you to the Nationals as well. We will be trying to reach out to all the well known dogmen and give them an invite to our event. It would be great if you could attend. We plan to make this event a special one; worth attending.

Good Luck with your 1st show for the OFRNR!! Your judges sound great!!

Re: OFRNR First National Dog Show & Treadmill Race. 6-9-12

    Well thank you.
Since I knew Ralph and Renee and the kids for many years I thought I might attend and drag Dan along.
As you can recall seeing the picture in the Gazette and James Crenshaw's book of Dan & Ralph together in a picture I took at the Chicago Convention back in the early 80's.

We can stop by and see family in TN.
Ironline Kennels is a registered Kennel with OFRNR, ADBA & AADR.
I only have a few old dogs still alive registered with ADBA, I might bring one off Ch. Dutchess along.
The National for ADBA is much closer to us this year.
I have been going to UKC Premier as well.

I think it would be fun to attend and not have to judge.
I retired from all judging for ADBA & AADR many years ago.

Our judges are old school type dog owners. We want to keep the Registry image of one at least which isn't associated with a convicted felons with a 3 bit trailer about hook a habitual charge next time down.

In this day and age I don't think it is the best interest for the breed as a whole.
I would like to invite you to our show as well.
We always have fun whether you enter a dog or not.

I hope some vendors show up.
Not to many shows let the vendors do business for free.....

As for the size of the show, it is like these dogs, the best aren't always "Bigger is Better." :)

To be quite honest, it wasn't my decision to put on the show, it was the President.
She wanted to do it for all the people who had the strain and had dogs registered with OFRNR.

I'm just out to have fun with friends and families without all the drama, bitterness, jealousy and violence.

We are the kind of people if we ever had enough clubs to hold a convention, it would be a free hog roast. LOL

My brother likes to go to TN. a lot.

I have been about every part of TX. from Texarkana to Eagle's Pass, from the Panhandle to Brownsville and every place in between.
Been over into Mexico and around there too. N.M., OK., AR., just about every place near by.

I'll be seeing you some place in the Midwest. :)
    Have a good one..

Where down south I.M. & where? I would love to attend and bring my boy out; however, he's 9 years old now and a lil chubby lol.

Grandson of the great Ch. Gambler x Fifth Element...this guy was a best in his day. Unfortunately, I had him about 3 pounds under this show (here he is eye balling Gr. Ch. Macho Buck rip): [IMG]
