What weight was your dog at around 7 months?

I weighed my puppy today, he's 15kg or 33lbs exactly. He will be 7months and 3 weeks on Sunday. I'm just hoping someone can remember what weigh their dog was at this stage and what they grew to be?

I'm just trying to get a rough idea how big my pup will be. His sire was 60lbs and his dam was a lot smaller so as I said, I'm looking for a rough guide to how big he'll finish up at.

    Thanks!

The dog, he's a blue, 'Irish' Staffordshire Bull Terrier, with me.

  2. The 33 pounds is normal man...he s a great lookin dog and I would guesstimate he will top out around the 45 to 50 mark.

  3. ive always go with a dogs weight at 6months is two thirds of his grown weight all dogs are different but it,s a good estiment .

My bitch was 17.5 kg (38lbs) at 7 months. She hit 21 kg (46lbs) at 10 months and hasn't gained any more than 1/2kg in the next 9 months. She's Jeep/Redboy lines. Use this info as a rough guide as no 2 dogs are exactly the same.

Thanks, he was 13kg at that time. So that'd make bring him to about 45lbs when fully grown which is like the other suggestions, seems good.

Thanks 99 too, good guide there too.

Here's another 2 pics for reference-

    Hey mate,

Can you tell me what the difference is between an Irish Staff and an English Staff, whats the breeding behind them?

    Thanks

    p.s. Good looking dog

Thanks Butch, much prefer that than if he was like his Sire haha, or any of his sire's side... they're the ugliest dogs I've ever seen!

I posted this before I had got more of his pedigree, I know now that's he not Irish Staff, well not on his Sire's side anyway. My dog's sire is UK KC registered, don't know about his mother yet.

The difference between an 'Irish' staff and a regular Staff isn't an awful lot, Irish Staffs, AFAIK, are more of a line or 'type' of Stafford. They're down from the old Irish game Staffs used for hunting Badgers and other such excursions, dogs like this-

Then there's the other lines like Flynn and Dublin Red etc.

I don't call my dog an Irish Stafford anymore, I call him a plain ol' Staff haha.

The irish staffs are a lot taller and the english staff is the result of the staffordshire bull terrier becoming a show dog. They are often shorter and weigh a lot less than the english staff, but because of the shorter height, they are much more stocky and less athletic.

I honestly have no idea what the weight on my dog was at any age lol I never weighed him, and he has only been weight one time in his life and that was when he had to go to the vet for a dislocated toe, was 49.5lbs at the time..

I just go by looks.. if the dogs to skinny, add more feed.. to heavy, feed a little less. I dont like puppies fat but some people do.. let me see if I cant pull a picture up of Bear around 7 months old, I took lots of pictures (and still do) because I am a loser like that LOL

Okay this is one right at the 7month mark, before he was actually 7mo
    [IMG]

Here is another after the 7mo mark, after he was 7mo
    [IMG]

Mind you now he is a mutt dog and of no specific breed, also he is and was at 6mo larger all around than his Dam, and his Sire was supposedly the same size as the Dam and he is much bigger than both now.
I dont know what he weighed in those pictures, and still right now I dont know what he weights, would bet about 60+lbs or so, but who knows lol

  14. you dog is 33lbs/15kg at 7mo, a quick guide would 40-44lbs...you say the sire is 60lbs/27kg and is a Irish staffordshire bull terrier..do they come that big would be the question I would ask

Shoot while you guys are guessing weights, help me out.

Dog born June 1 2011, he 8.5 months old and sitting at 72#'s empty and no collar. How BIG will this genetic freak get? He is def not bully bred dog. LOL He is bred as good as anything. Off Dynomite to daughter of his off Hickory T and Ch. Missy. He has the makings off a 55-60 pounder but SEVENTY TWO POUNDS @ 8.5 months....REALLY? I blame Japan and the radiactive fall out. LMAO Totally kidding there.

Seriously how much bigger can he get? I hoping he leans out and stays around 70#'s that is a me dreaming cause he prob hit 80#'s lean. Anyone seen a gamebred dog this big? I have seen one other and he tall and big. Kinda has that MayDay look to him. However my old bulldog buddy was around him the other day and says WHOA man he looks like Frisco when he looks at you certain ways. I was relieved to have him say this. I too had that WHOA moment with him. Like I was looking at Frisco in the face. I met Frisco in person in the 90's

Anyway he is pet and honestly dont care how big or small he is. Reality is he is big though.

Hi Harry, pup is coming on nice...I think he'll end up around 40lbs fit...some people keep dogs heavier than others...so I don't think you can get a good opinion unless someone sees the dog in person... is the sire 60lbs, I seen the sire at the show (I think) and he don't look like a Stafford of any type..looked like a overweight APBT.. R
