Dog will not go in his dog house!!!

Ok so I got this one dog that will not go in his dog house and it is snowy and cold and he just sits out and shivers got any ideas for me?

First of all is he used to be kenneled or chained?
You know how stubborn headed they sometimes could be and if he was a house dog before you put him outside he might just don´t like it.

Have you checked the inside of his house?
Is it soiled or is there something else that he can´t stand and prefers to stay outside of it?

If you won´t find a solution I´ll put him inside your house over the winter and try to get him used to a life outside at a warmer season!

maybe you can try to put some nice food for him in his dog house.. i did that to and after 3 /4 days they stayed in there dog house...
maybe it will not work for you but you can try..

checkout the house & make sure it's clean & dry. if everything ok & he's dumb enough to chose the cold over a nice worm house. it wouldn't be worth keeping around the yard imo.

What u need to do is answer some of the questions asked by the forum members . Then maybe we can help u! I will give u some advice. What I would do is (1)put some fresh bedding in his house. (2)Then push him in it a few times through out the day. This should work! If it doesn't (3)start pushing his bowl of food to the back of the house. If he doesn't learn from this method than he's not worth keeping. Spay him and put him with someone who can keep him inside.

 

Years ago my ex had pups that wouldn't go in their dog house. They'd sit outside it in the pouring rain. It was one of those igloo style ones. I went to see if there was a problem and when I stuck my head in there it was like a sauna in there. He didn't open the vent in the back. Once it was open and the air was actually breathable in there, they went right in. Something to consider...

 

I clean the houses every week and yes he is on a chain and if try putting treats in their and he will go in to get the treat and comes right back out and all mother dogs are out by him and they use their houses

Yes I use hay

 

mine are all hand make and I put my head in their and it's not to hot or cold

Good stuff man I did straw then hat but not cedar ill have to try that. One had I picked him up and put him in the house and I blocked to he couldnt get out and he dint act scared of it but then when I moved he came right out

 

I think that what it is but I bring him in he goes crazy trying to get out side

 

If u know the temp is cool and its dry and clean inside id say lock his ass in there or chain him to the inside if u can and feed and water him in there and then let him out to use the bathroom.do this for a couple of days and it might work.sorta like reverse crate training
