The perfect blend between lines?

I agree with that...dogs represent the man behind them. That's pretty good logic.

 

The reason its said like that, is because a lot don't check their stock...lol a dog should represent its line, meaning the qualities the main dog is bred on. Some lines(or dogs) are known for certain traits & its up to the men behind them to breed true, to the line.. some lines are known for wind, mouth, smarts, hide, bone, gameness & some are the total package etc... That's why you got to know the line & if the breeder is staying true to it or not... You gotta look at the dogs before, you can look at the papers, for breeding... IF you want a real game bred dog...ijs

 

i see where your coming from..when you breed to a bloodline and not a dog your results may not be as good ..Now if you breed to a particular dog your results should be better.Still not a home run..Id rather breed to a dog that displays the traits I am lookin for ,I dont care much about his bloodline.jmo ..but to each thier own .I guess it depends on who taught you.I have been wrong more than once.

These hounds hav bn crossed since day 1.. But, most goes bac 2 DIBO.. If, individuals really studied a pedigree.. & the hounds behind the peds are TRUE.. Then, will U c the diagram (SCIENCE) ;-)

Examples.. CH YELLOW JOHN, GR CH MAYDAY, GR CH HAUNCH... CH HONEYBUNCH, CH JEEP, TAB, CH GATOR, GR CH BLACKJACK, etc..

So, U c what a FAMILY of hounds CAN/WILL PRODUCE.. & NOT JUS PERFORMER'S.. So, I would take my chances on a FAM & NOT Individual said hound ;-)

i think when u have selected a indavidual ,u have selcted a indavidual from a certain family that u have been familiar with for a long time.No i dont think most anyone would select a indavidual not knowing the family it came from.
