There was a breeding a few years back involving a bitch that was 75% bullyson's granddaughter. Here is a big ol' cur from that litter:

I wouldn't call her a cur without seeing her perform, but she sure is big. How tall does she stand at the withers and how much does she weigh?

  5. Congoman

    Congoman Big Dog

I'm going to guess maybe around a 44-45 lb female in shape.

Big ol' was meant to denote the size of his cur-ness.The dog pictured is a male. He is a product of the female and breeding described in post #23. Don't know his weight but congoman's guest sounds about right.

^ Yes. Or conversely, the dam to the dog pictured was 33 % Bullyson's direct offspring.

Last I checked was early 2009, didn't know that Virgil passed. It is a shame because he was a good bulldog.

Not meant to hijack the thread, but had a quick question for those like me, that sometimes get caught up with a pretty ped. Instead of looking for the "CLOSEST living relatives of the greats", shouldn't we be looking for the "BEST living relatives of the greats?" I'm no breeder by all means but i've always thought you should be breeding to add traits that are lacking, which in turn produce better all around bulldogs than of the sire & dam. Just wanted to hear everyones thoughts on this :)
