Yes I was thinking about something like that.

Bransen is like that if I am out walking him by myself, he is VERY protective. He never tries to bite but that could be because no one has approached us at night. I wouldn't either, he's got a scary bark. Kids, however, can up to him whenever they want and be greeted with a wagging tale. :D Not always the best though, little kids can be damn speedy and one of them pulled out a chocolate-chip cookie and fed it to him before I had the chance to stop him.

rottweilers are very vocal as a breed they growl to say hi and in pleasure if there having fun they are certainly a funny character in general. my dog does the same as yours with guests if my mum is home alone, only males though if im there or if i let the person in then he accepts them as a friend. i dont mind so much as its never aggresive as such just sits there barking and wagging his tail

I suppose that's why all the Detroit overflow around here calls my Rottie a "Rockweiler". Or they're just retarded and can't read or hear.

you cant tell me whats in my backyard r.g. as far as what happens here and you're there... for one *laughing* we dont have "trap houses" thats down south... we have crack houses or more commonly "spots" and you cant let one person you may have spoke to or heard an animal cop say let you make a comment like that... i got a few things to say about ohio... and yes on there are alot of human aggressive pitbulls here... and yes they are alot of game dogs here... ive noticed that on this site that ppl have the tendency to think that if you're not in there circle then you're bullshit and more importantly the whole "byb" thing... i saw your video... you have a backyard does that make you a byb'er??? papers dont make the dog... they help you reproduce the dog... i guess... but i can guarantee you that i know a few dogs that if properly conditioned could catch some of the best hogs you've seen... you know the saying any given sunday... so to sum it .... NO we dont have a plethora or for even that matter even a market of "ROCK DOGS" running around.... and same damn game ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in Michigan, been here my whole life and I've lived everywhere in this god forsaken place. I'm pretty sure it's because people are retarded, or refuse to speak properly. First time I heard someone call my dog a "Rockweiler" (or even better "Rockwilder") I was incredibly confused.

hmmm... sounds as if you're retarded to be staying in a "GOD forsaken place"... where are you from in the state?!?!?!?! (if you dont mind me asking)... what has you stuck here? the winter? tomato/tomayto... none the less good luck with your "rottie".... thought this was a gamedog site though... so in retrospect you even bringing your rockwilder up was pointless...

Gee, it's hard to move from a state when I have no extra money to do so. Everything I make goes towards my dogs, cost of living, and school. Once I have a degree, and a real career, then I can get the fuck out of here.

And I've lived in every part of this state.

    LOL.:D

Just adding my two cents and experience with guarding. Take it for what you will.

I fostered a young female bullmastiff cross in the summer for a couple of months who was guarding me heavily. It is not desiarble at all IMO as you are the boss, not the dog. You own him / her and not the other way around. He is telling people, this is MINE and don't come near it. She would bark at people who tried to talk to me while out in public, she would bark at the door, she would bark at people I let into my house. She would correct quickly, however, the behaviour continued. She continued to guard me and space heavily and it got worse over time to where she eventually tried to bite the woman that runs the rescue when she was trying to get the dog to give up guarding space.

IMO, if it is not something that the dog is trained to do, it can be dangerous and I would keep a very close eye on the dog to make sure it is not progressing. If you do not want the behaviour to stop, then have you considered doing some training with him so that it is controlled by you rather than by him?

    Re: "Guard" Barking

interesting i checked alot of those sites and they all reference the same site.... but the MOST interesting thing is i couldnt find ONE of these puppies for sale... i do see where they say "pitbulls and rottweilers are known influences of this breed". And yes sir i am the keeper of the state (im from where we piss on buckeye trees) so i guess to an extent you were right some guy in detroit made "rockdogs" go to detroitnews.com check the classifieds you wont see any american mastiff panjas rockdogs or anything else... same way some guy on here said he wanted to start a line of game "blue" dogs... one persons ideas or breedings doesnt constitute what "we do" so to speak...never said i've seen it all but ive know ive NEVER seen that... and you take accounts from COPS seriously??? same way anytime its a shorthaired big head dog its a pitbull attack on tv right? so find me some puppies for sale before you talk about that wonderful breed we have for sale in the state

Explane to me why I have personaly seen this cross in the streets and in the shelters? Lots of other folks seen em also. I dont believe everything reported in the paper or quoted by cops but when I also see evadence of it with my own two eyes there accounts become more valid.
