aint nuttin wrong with disliking a dogman for doing the dogs wrong plenty of oldtimers did not like the people that were involved. in the ed crenshaw interview he said his view of a dog man he respected went down significantly when the guy did not pick up his dog. i do not hate vick but i think if what was said is true then i aint got no respect for a man like that.

 

i've been told this by someone before, and he also said you can bet they wouldn't be invited back in the future. he said the same went for game birds, those who let their charge die or "disposed" of it in a poor way were looked down upon by their peers and not asked back to future gatherings.

now fucktards think it's "in" to abuse their dogs to death because they didn't know what they were doing in the first place.

i'm not trying to church it up; "dog men of yore" were not saints by any stretch from my understanding, but they seemed to handle themselves a lot different a couple of decades ago.

Who gives a fuck about MV? U have 2 handful of people tha have been busted in the last 5 years, with 20 to 100 hounds that we dnt hear about or choose 2 ignore them after awhile. I'm against the cruelty that happens to people, food animals AND dogs. I can be disturbed by all of it, can't I?

I am also very disturbed about how food animals are raised and slaughtered, but the truth is, people in general ARE more upset about the cruelty that happens to dogs. Dogs have a place in our society that IS different than livestock or animals that are hunted. YES, I understand that some see dogs as no different from a rat, a chicken or a cow, but I think in this country, they are a minority.

I can yearn for better treatment for people and food animals; and STILL ask WHY someone would go out of their way do some of these cruel things to dogs when there are better ways that are obvious to anyone. What goes through the mind of a person that goes out of his way to be cruel?

Someone was saying why didn't we all care about hunted animals, livestock animals and people instead of worrying about what Vick did to his dogs. I was simply pointing out that I can be concerned about all of it....just because I think what Vick did was wrong doesn't mean I don't care about people, babies and the rest.

For the record, I am not against hunting -- just someone being cruel in the methods.

Dreamer, there's nothing pretty about a deer getting hit with a broad head and running off with the arrow still stuck in it. Depending on how good of a shot it is that deer may or may not die. I've been on a blood trail for a hours. Know what that means??? Means the deer was bleeding and running wounded for a long time. Do I think it sucks when that happens........yes. Do I think it's cruel........no. Sometimes you find the thing still breathing but unable to go on so you got to slit it's throat. There's nothing glorious about it. But it's hard to call it cruel if you're gonna use it to feed your family. That's the grand design. I doubt many farm raised food animals ever see a death as gruesome as what I've just described. But it is what it is. And it is the nature of the beast. Just look at nature in general. Kind of gruesome to watch a pack of coyotes run one down and start to eat it alive. That's life.
