So you only want the dog as a pet but it has to be an APBT, no other bullbreed will do? Sounds like you're just after something to make you look hard when you're on the street corner swigging buckie with all the other neds. Don't worry, just go get a mutt from the pound none of your mates will know it isn't really a 52xW game bred red nose Old Tyme American Lock-Jaw Terrier:rolleyes:

Did you import your Gargoyle pup form the states? Probably my favourite of the OTBs with the Dorset coming in second, you've got good taste ;). Be great to see some pics of your bulldogs.

If you really want to work it out for yourself then the internet is the wrong place to go about it. The best way is to go about it is face to face, by 1st earning the trust of a dogman.

I'd drive him and anyone else up the wall. I know how hard it is when you start, all I'm saying to the lad be patient and take thing's slow. When I started out It took me over 5 years (and a few quid) to get myself an honest bred dog from a genuine dogman and there's not many of them about. The rest of them just spoke shit, lied and it took me awhile to realize some just wanted money and would tell me anything I wanted to hear to get it.

ever faced a dog or patched one up..........no.........dont get a game dog. Game dogs are for the box ,period.......the allure of owing the real mcCoy for non-dogmen has always been there, thats why show people bred amstaff and SBT. Conformation and agility shows are for folks that dont cross the line. Then the same folks delude themselves and breed their dogs out the arse quoting Gr CH.

You have to be prepared to cross the line before you ask it of your dog. YIS

if the only advice you folks here can give me is to do the ground work myself and be patient then i can accept that - and all the slagging and accusations aside i actually value it! Hey im one step closer in my opinion...
ive been looking on this forum for a while and read quite a lot of posts concerning irresponsible and un-educted owners breeding for looks or colour or just having the animal for a macho extension of their personality..... well that aint me - i always do things right by my dogs and have made some major sacrifices in the past! and like you guys i think the state of the american bully pitbull strain/morph is no longer actually a bulldog... i dont care that i came on here and got ridiculed or criticised just because i down a certain breed of dog or that im not as knowledagble about certain aspects of that breed! for those of you that posted positive and honest advice I thankyou - for those of you that see my en-deavours as a joke and treated me with dis-respect, i also thankyou.......... i aint going anywhere boys

Honestly what appeals to you about the APBT that you can't get from a nice athletic SBT?
This breed especially in this country doesn't need to be in pet homes they should be kept on working yards far away from the public eye.

thats not a bad point that taz.if every tom dick or henrietta had a pbt as a pet it wouldnt be too long before they became like the staffs.

Garoyle are just like most other "breeders" they have a miss mash of breeds that go into making heir bulldogs, various so called oldtime bulldogs, mastiffs etc. Zoe Jefcut breeds mainly dog de bordeaux's and ambulls as well as bulldogs, which anyone can see have ddb's in them!!! She advertises her bulldogs at stud for £600 and £1000 not bad for a days work if you can get it. Most ddb's along with other large kc breeds suffer mainly with H.D. "hip dysplasia" as do the majority of ambulls over here do. These people aint breeding for the good of the dogs they are breeding for £££££'s i'll quote zoe jefcut " My Bordeaux's PEDIGREE'S include some of the best dogs in the country!!!! " If you are breeding animals of inferior quality just based on pedigrees you will get inferior quality of pup's. Lets not forget the breeding of these bulldog types are not hybrids they are just a whole lot of scatterbred bloodlines!!! These dogs might resemble the dogs of the late 1800's but they do not resemble their ancesters from the 1700's or 1600's whose job was to catch and hold the bulls for the butchers, nor the dogs that were used in bullbaiting or dog fighting, these dogs were much larger. Imo none of the various so called bulldogs of today would come near to holding a bull. They even breed a blue colour bulldog now...... Here is a few sites and a few bulldog studs .

WB&T that was all researched off the net. There is tons more info about the apbt out there and ts all FREE . Perhaps that would be a good starting point for you, instead of comming straight on an open forum and asking about getting a pup from a BANNED BREED here in the UK.

Asking price for this 9mth old pup £2,500 :D:D http://www.k9puppy.co.uk/PuppiesforSale/Bulldog12367.aspx
