They're Both Drowning and You Can Save Only One . Your Dog or a Stranger?

Saw this posted on another message board and thought it was quite interesting as where the replies.

Who would you pick? Your dog or the stranger?.

Come on, a person.... A dog is a dog, A dog is property... but a person is a person with a family, friends, and one of our own

 

No hesitation the person! I can get a dog/s all day long but that stranger maybe some ones son/daughter mother/father etc. That can never be replaced

no stranger will go befor my dog.
and sorry bud if it was 1 of my frend or what my dogs go s before them to.
my dogs ar my family and they will go whatever whenever for me so best i can do is give them that back.

Who's to say that same stranger would help me if I was drowning, I know at least 3 of my dogs would try to save me or die trying, so I'd do the same for my dog. JMO

 

I'm with TheIII on this. lol. Can barely keep myself alive in water no way I'm going to be saving anyone from drowning.

 

the thing that most people fail to realize is that often the rescuer becomes the victim.
i chose the dog first, as they will be easier to rescue than a flailing, panicking person.
if after the dog is safe the person is still in need, then i will go in after them-hopefully with some mechanical aid.
call me cruel and heartless, but i speak from a point of experience- i nearly drowned several years ago-pinned underwater in a kayak. it wasnt until i realised- "this is it, this is the end" that i became relaxed enough to free myself.

mechanical rescue for the person ( float, rope, throw bag, etc)

 

The Person, it's not even a choice in my opinion. Anyone that says there dog has some serious issues, IMO, and if it were ever a real situation it would certainly cause them a slew of legal problems.
