I got a quick question for those of you who have shipped dogs before.

I have to return to my hometown in Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota for a wedding. I am currently in Los Angeles.

I would drive, but don't have 4 day for traveling available.

Right now I have a guy who can hold my dog for $280 for the week.

I'd much rather pay $300 to have my dog shipped via cargo both ways.

What airline can accommodate my situation? Unfortunately my dog is very insecure in his crate and growls, this is because hes usually out on his chain and kennel run.

Anybody have any suggestions for me?

WTF??? I hope you raised hell, and got a few thousand miles out of it at the least.
To the OP, I'd leave the dog with someone you trust or find a reputable boarding facility who are not dumbasses with bulldogs.

continental airlines, they have climate controlled shipping so you dont have to worry about what the temp is at either destination. list your dog as a mix, lab chow or fell terrier, they may have a prob with the breed if its(snubnosed) as they call it, they wont get yer dog out and do an examination or temperment test, youll be fine

i already have it listed as a lab and patterdale mix at my vets...

i dont know how my dog react if im not around being moved...loud noises...

    been thinking about sedation

    how much is continental?

i always think the same thing about noises, theyre pretty much geared up for the worst case scenario, i never had a prob, the cost is around 350

I've heard that giving your dog Gravol will make them drowsy. Not sure of dosage or if your even supposed to give gravol and don't have time right now to investigate it and it's to early for my brain to function LOL. Just a thought.

It was suggested by an old farmer here who has had some experience removing Porcupine quills from dogs.

No they didnt. When i picked up my dog, he screamed that he was dangerous or whatever he fuckin said and that i wasnt allowed to take him out of his crate at all. I found out after i got home long story short. by the time i had found out what happened, there was no point.

continental told me $199 for a 35 pound dog...

midwest aid $371 each way, but i called again and got a quote at $171...

why the inconsistency? damn representatives have no idea what they are talking about

Make sure they do not impose breed restrictions, you don't want to find out that they will not board your dog just because it is a pit bull when you are about to leave.

they do...i have him listed as a lab/patterdale mix
