1st thing is a four foot lead...and get yourself a nice pair of running/walking shoes....but if you are inclined to do more...do a search for the pit bull bible....john koerner (california jack)...as a person he is an obnoxious, self promoted, ego-filled ass...as a producer of dogs and as a provider of information he is top-notch...the book is expensive, maybe a $100 or so...but the money it saves you on wormers and medicines will pay for the book in less than a year...the feed section will save you more than the cost of the book in a year....it is about the best thing going for all things bulldog right now....US1

start by walking the dog 1 hour additional from regular walking to empty out, make sure you walk at a good pace feed 10-30 minutes after walking and get a flirtpole to play with for 15-20 minutes a day and your dog should be in good shape in a few weeks. if you have more time increase the walks by 20 minutes every week until you get to 2 hours of walking.

i agree the pitbull bible is a good source but if money is tight there are enough people here to help you out:)
