  1. I just got a Taurus P24/7 Pro 45 ACP. Haven't got to shoot it yet seeing as it was a gift from my paw-n-law brand new only been fired 7 times.Just wanting to hear what yall think about them. Any feedback welcomed as far as best ammunition to use also. Thanks in advance!!

My brother used to have a millenium .45 made by tarus. I had a .44 special. My old man had several tarus guns including a raging bull .44. No complaints from any of them. They hold their own. Ammo depends on what you're doing. Target shooting or home protection?

  3. Both honestly i will use a hollow point as far as protection and something cheaper for the target stuff. I really want to find an ammo that i can take to the range and just break it in with .

  4. Wow I thought I would get a little more feedback than this. Thanks anyways!! Iguess I'm not part of the IN crowd on here.

If you can find federal HST then use that. Just make sure your gun likes it. For target i use whatevers cheapest.
Im not a fan of taurus but some people have had luck with them.

I have the 24/7 9mm. It chews up anything I put in it. Like was said earlier buy the cheapest stuff you can find for target and the good hollow points for protection.

Taurus is not where its at. I wouldn't buy a taurus unless it was the Judge. As far as 1911's go, there are obviously much better and more reputable models.

The problem with Taurus is you never know what you are going to get. You could get an exceptional gun that works wonderfully for you OR you can get a gun that isnt worth the materials its made of. Not to mention the problems you get when you gotta send it back to taurus when all it does is malfunction and you don't get it back forever. I just don't think its well spent money when there are other brands for similiar price. With that being said, yours was a gift. I wouldn't turn one down, thats for sure... but i wouldn't buy one with my own money new out the box just because of the uncertainty. You'll find out soon enough what kind of gun you got though, it can go either way. I've fired two different 1911's from taurus, one wouldnt feed for nothing and one worked great.

Now that judge......ultimate home protection. I got to get one of those. If it's not going to offend anybody maybe sometime down the road you could trade it in and put a lil more $$ down and get a real solid 1911. My personal favorite is a colt defender. Springfield armory also makes very nice handguns. Kimber does too. If a 1911 is what you're looking for.

  9. Thanks to all !! Iactually looked in to the Judge but any farther than 6 yrds and its not all that accurate depending on what your shooting. These guys were shooting a Judge (public defender) with the 410 shells and the first ball was dead on but the other 2 scattered pretty good at 7 yards.

Taurus in my opinion offers pretty decent guns for the money, Seems like if memory serves me right they have a real good warranty and customer service.

Only way to know if you like it though is get out there and shoot it, What other like you might hate or vice versa. Something I am going to tell you though is if the gun doesn't hit where you aim it at when you first fire it don't automatically assume it is a bad gun, 1911 models seem to shoot a particular way and you have to learn how to aim them which can take some time. I have one that tends to fire high so it took me a while to get proficient with it where I could hit where I aimed each time. So get a lot of ammo and happy shooting.

Also when it comes to ammo I believe you should fire only what you would bet your life on, A lot of people recommend getting cheap ammo for regular shooting and then saving the good ammo for self defense or that. Ammo also affects how your shooting so try and find a good ammo and stick with it for both self defense and shooting at the range so you know what to expect each time you pull the trigger, Even though different batches can have some variances for the most part they all stay pretty consistent.

  11. Thanks Old Timer

yeah, what old timer said. Taurus does have good customer service, but last i checked they are based out of brazil so if your gun malfunctions they will replace parts and waht not for you but it takes you forever to get it back.

Alot of times with 1911's, you get out of the gun what you put in. When you get a new 1911 [depending on the model] its really just a shell of what it could be. Thats why they are so popular because the ability to customize almost anything and alter it to meet your needs. I dont run cheap ammo through mine, personally.

Got my girl a 24/7 in 9mm she loves it me to but not better than my p95 it's the only gun other than the .22 that she likes to shoot. I like although it's double action it has a light smooth trigger pull kinda Long though. Plus it comes with a grip and extended clip that's good for people with big hands thinkin bout gettin one .40 cal cause my s&w sigma sucks ass

  14. The trigger pull is probably the only thing i'm worried about. It is the only set back that reviewers have talked about on the newer guns. but I'm sure just as anything else it just takes some getting used to. Can't wait to shoot the damn thing I can tell ya that much just had so much going on right now, but I'll get there soon enough I guess!!

The tigger pull is light and smooth just long and it won't throw u off target like alot of double actions

I was confused for a minute with the 1911 talk. The gun Tryptronics has is not the 1911 model. It is a good conceal carry weapon. If you have a issue with it jamming it is a magazine default notify Taurus and they will take care of it. Happy shooting.

A couple buddys of mine have a Judge. I have shot it loaded with all different ammo. It is serious I liked the 410 shells the best. Close quarters inside your home it is devastating.

  19. no it's a 45 acp I wouldn't mind having the revolver for close up stuff

A friend of mine in another country is thinking of aquiring a new weapon, they are both second hand. The first is a beretta M92f and the second is a glock 17. The beretta is about 15% cheaper. What do you guys think he should get????
