I haven't seen any APBT shows in my part of Ca, so I went to a Bully show Saturday..UHmm, I really don't know what to think about these dogs..I do own a Razors Edge dog but she don't look like the things at this show...My dog has no sway in her back and is only 50lbs..These were some of the most grotesque looking dogs I have seen in person...I don't want to start a "bully's are shit thread" I guess I would just like to have some APBT shows in my area(Fresno).

BTW-----I took my APBT pup(5months) with me, just for socializing situations...My wife asked my "how many people here do you think know what your dog is" I would honestly guess none....

I hear you man, I went to one of these shows a year ago for the same reason.. They advertised a gamebred conformation entry, then canceled it at the last minute..SMF!Nothing like the dog shows at the ole armory in Riverside back in the 80s.

I cant get my head around what Bullies are good for?? What purpose are they bred for, i dont mind a nice bred fit bully, but what is up with the massive hippos with t-rex arms???

I have been to a couple of them shows, While I don't care for the dogs I have to admit that the people treated me very nice.

I took one of my real old dogs and kept him on a leash and sat and watched everything, Different folks would stop by and talk to me about my dog and then the folks who put it up asked me if I would be a judge in one area, I said to them I wouldn't do that since they were not my area of expertise...That was the polite way of saying I couldn't be bothered with it since they weren't bulldogs.

But it did surprise me that they were as nice as they was especially considering I was sitting there with a bulldog.

There is a UKC show in Tulare in Sept. every year. It is the Sequoia American Pitbull Terrier Club in Tulare. There will not be any Bulldogs there unless I take my Colby dogs, but I do take my UKC stuff there to show. Hit me up if you want to check out the UKC show and maybe show your dogs.

I wouldn't bother attending these shows because it would just become overwhelming on my behalf knowing that I own an apbt and to those people all they see are bully bully bully, it would just become rubbish quickly so I would like to think. I am sure there are people who are not humble over there but it wouldn't make much sense to attend something I don't believe in other then having a first eyed witness.

Plz check profile...need help identifying pit pup...was told gabbo & coby??? Thanks people...

Without a pedigree you're not going to identify your pup based off looks. Even with a pedigree it's not always the truth but it helps. Did the breeder have the parents papered?

And I'm not sure what Gabbo is........but I'm guessing whoever told you that doesn't know either.........and I'm not sure what coby is..........but Colby is one of it not the oldest bloodline around and it's very well known and even people who don't know much know about Colby dogs which is why peddlers and backyard breeders say it's a colby dog........truth is who knows what you got or how it's bred but I hope it works out for you.

8 month on leash and almost 2 on the chain,,, I like what I got and the object is to not give a F*&CK what any one else thinks, especially not on no internet message board

Those are some cute dogs, what kind are they?

Elway7, the "object" is to learn as much as possible about these dogs and their nature and what they were bred for and how to take care of them. And I mean doing some serious homework cause they're not like other breeds. The good ones LOVE to fight and will go to great lengths to get at another dog. Once you've got a good understanding of them, get with a good breeder with a good reputation and not just someone who wants to say it's a _______ bloodline to sell a dog. Since you already have your pup, the rest is up to proper care and excercise and taking every precaution to make sure YOU are responsible. If something happens it's not ALL the dog's fault. You have a huge responsibility to not only yourself and your dog but to the entire breed to do your best to be a responsible owner.
