pitbull????

hi people

new to this forum

some beautiful dogs people got on here

i bought my bitch about 4 years ago, under the impression it was an old southern white american bulldog

people keep telling me she looks like a pit tho, and i think the guy i bought her form may have told me it was an ambull because of the legal status in the uk

could anybody help me out??

anyone identify this breed???

its other people that have said it to me

and since then i have seem a lot of ambulls and they are huge

you could be right, its weird tho, she could fit the standard for either height and weight wise LOL

 

Theres two split "types" of american bulldogs. One is giant, the other is small and thin.

Whoever said thats a pit is a complete moron.

i know of both of those, and she seems a bit too small to be either

my neighbour has a scott and it towers over her, but then again it is male

hey not arguing here, u guys are the experts, its just kinda hard to get my head around, bull breeds are confusing, they all look kinda the same LOL

are the old southern white's like the one below (joshua kennels) a seperate line to the scott's??

 

They are different to a point. Scott was one of the first to register his dogs American Pit Bulldogs. He went and used the white bulldogs from his area. He continued to breed and was, along with Johnson the most notable AB breeders. Joshua used white bulldogs from his area. Same TYPE of dog, just the same "family." Don't get into the old southern white talk, more marketing than anything.

 

She is a American Bulldog. She looks good.

 

Everything looks like a "pit bull" to the people who don't know Jack about it. That's why BSL specifies "pit bull type" dogs. They can kill a lot of different breeds with the same stone. And obviously they're too stupid to define the differences between them.

like i said, the guy i got her off, told me she was an ambull

but i dont have papers, so i cant really prove it if the issue arrises

im just glad shes the working type and not a big drool monster LOL

where does the ambull, come into the bull terriers, they gotta be related somehow

are ambulls the "bull" side of the "bull and terrier" crosses???

 

Yea that's a American bulldog and there are two types of them and the difference is size one gets up 70 maybe 75 pounds and the other gets about 120 or so but I've seen a big fat onethat the owner said was 140 something and a lot of the time people mix the two two and u might get a 60 pound and a 110 pond dog out of the same litter

 

I know a few breeders that work with the scott line and there are alot smaller.

I would say American Bulldog.

 

Bulldog X...whatever you want to call it....the resemblance is more to the American bulldog...the teeth on them are different too, because of the english bulldog influence. The small teeth on the front bottom jaw are usually spaced differently and the cutters on the top sit further back.

Id say alpaha bulldog cross, looks like some oeb (old english bulldogge) foundation. looks athletic and looks like it can do some catch and hold work, id say its someones oeb foundation .
