JT,not slating you for pointing out your opinion on the above lads ask for help. I don't know if you mean the quality of dogs or the truth to the breeding. Either way he put the names up & you gave him your opinion & no,i am not doubting it.
If anyone came to you for advice on obtaining a stafford new pup/adult,what would be your advice ?
In your opinion,is there any worthwhile stafford blood still out there or is everything long gone ?

I made the choice to delete a few posts! Come on guys, you are more than welcome to debate the qualities of the named dogs and blood line. But try to keep it clean and put some thought in the debate. We don’t always have to agree, nor like each other.But some posts just get too ridiculous.

otr, i dont have a beef with you and thank you for being polite about it, but i think jt and ndogger refered to my dogs in the same manner just different wording. with this im not asking you to delete or to close this thread, i have no problem answering any questions coming from the fellow europeans. some come here talking about a few dogs they had in the past and think they know it all. maybe the dogs i've mentioned were no good dogs for some but for others. i'm a former bulldog man and the same thing was said about few of the dogs i had decendant of wood snooty (to give you an example), he might've been a quitter but i was either lucky to have good dogs from that line or the rest werent worth a damn. same i can tell you about other bulldogs i had too when i lived in the northern east coast but i'm not here for medals or to make a name for myself like others are doing. if youd or anyone known me you'll be able to agree with this. i'm just here for the dogs but wont stay quiet to some of the bullshit spew on here, specially coming from the so called dogmen or oldtimers. for the records i respects dogs that make name for themselves and not the man behind it, nomatter who it is, the animal is the one working and earning his keep.

 

Honestly, I don’t even know where to start to sort this mess out. But I think you said it yourself, they said the same thing but in a different style.

Let’s keep taking JT as an example I don’t agree with half JT´s statements, and most definitely not his wordings sometimes. But I would never let his opinions bother me. I don’t care since I know what I feed. Besides, when you go on a public board and ask questions about specific dogs, you just have to expect opinions that are not favourable!

Now, JT had his hay day when I was a small boy, and I am a grown man. He has seen lots, and knows lots of facts and people. He has the information that many others here are looking for. Therefor I would honestly be a bit more tolerant with that old man than most others.

 

The dogs you asked about i dont have photos of howevor i do know how most of those are bred and saw some of them and others from the same kennel many years ago with my own eyes so am able to give a opinion based on facts that i saw with my own eyes . I also met the breeder and though a pleasant fellow he did not work his dogs or test them , he did howevor breed hundreds of pups and some that i saw were very big powerful impressive dogs , and if someone wanted a dog as a companion or simply to show then you wouldnt find better , they are not howevor gamebred and the pedigrees on them would be dubious to say the least . As for telling a newcomer were to buy a stafford pup , well i wouldnt recomend any as i dont know anyone who breeds genuine purebred staffords with genuine KC registration that actually breeds staffords from proven tested stock , i couldnt find them thirty years aago so cant see how there could be any today . On the rocks what do you know about the dogs i have owned past or present do you think that because you or the present day dogmen havent seen or heard about dogs i have owned these last thirty years that ive been away from dogs , i learned many years ago how dangerous it can be to let others know your buisness thats why i never sold dogs studed out my dogs to the public or reported matches but still my dogs were the talk of the none working dog brigade as can be seen today as for being tolerant its myself that should be tolereant having to listen to people that were never dogmen talking like they was involved back in the days . Ive got to see dogs given Champions status when they are not seen dogs that i personally saw quit cold talked about by todays dogmen as gamedogs , seen hundreds of dogs with pedigrees i know are false but hey im not suppose to talk about it , im just meant to say diddly squat and go along with the BS In my time i have helped more newcomers than anyone else in the game be it advice on breeding conditioning or medical help this is Facts , never once did i ask for money most the time i was well out of pocket , anyone i helped i told them they could ask me anything if i could help i would free of charge but they may not get the answers they wanted or like what i told them but it would be honest facts that i saw or had done myself . As for you not agreeing with what i say then thats fine thats called debate but when i tell you i saw a certain dog quit thats not debatable or if i tell you a dog has false papers thats not opinion thats fact or i wouldnt say so , opinion is like when i said the Beanie 3 bitch IN MY EYES wasnt very good thats opinion when i told you Roxy quit thats not opinion thats fact . Last but not least we all feed what WE want to feed one mans cur is another mans gamedog , its your own choice what you feed as long as your happy with fat old Butch or crossbred Judy or purebred Pete thats all that matters , as for myself like yawl say ive had my hay day now i shall have to sit back in retirement wishing the dogs i own were able to compete with the dogs of today , i can but dream lol

 

It’s not really relevant to me, nor important what you have owned the last 30 years. What I stated tough was that I view this kind of as a meritocracy, we should be happy when anyone educated shares their experiences with us, no matter if we fully agree or not. I have been at too many boards over the years where the knowledgeable people have been chased off by the bigots.

Even though I am much younger than you. I have seen most of the stuff you describe with my own eyes! Rank curs that has become legends. Shitty dogs that where labelled as champions. People breeding crap based on dogs far back in the pedigrees, dogs that they have no real knowledge about. Dogs that perhaps are not even really there. Therefor I appreciate that you share your view here, when we others disagree on a certain point we have a debate and hopefully anyone interested can have a better foundation to make up their own mind.

I may not agree with all your views, but I still have a lot of respect for you and the work you have done!

 

theres only one way to proof if the dogs are worth regardless if you had 30 years or 30 days in the old business, and thats a thing of the past. experience means squat the dogs make the difference, anybody can read a darn book or listen to halfway instructions and condition a dog right or wrong. you may be much older than me but the dogs ive had many wouldnt dream of having in 50 years lifetime.

 

I must agree with what you both say and also with what i have always done , as for reading books or ;istening to halfway instructions whatever they are experience in gamedogs means everything otherwise wed all be running round with dogs with false pedigrees that are not gamebred and the game would be in disaray . Howevor i decided long ago that i wouldnt keep dogs with false pedigrees or were not gamebred now i may be wrong in doing this but i can live with that , i personally saw every single dog in the twelve generation pedigree to the dog i own going back to 1980 i dont think i saw them , i owned most of them those i didnt own were owned by friends whose word and dogs i saw , now maybe theres better dogs around today then so be it but i assure you if i live to be a thousand years not once shall i dream of owning dogs bred different than the ones , i presently own unless its out of them , to do so would be a huge step backwards , keep scratchin

As you say 12 gauge you owned Snooty bred dogs back then and yees Snooty quit and also had false papers but he was still a fair producer , so whats the difference in me stating that dogs today are bred from none game dogs if i personally saw the dogs quit or know that a certain dog has false papers ? Would you sooner it wasnt mentioned and allow people to continue to decieve , you may be satisfied keeping dogs bred from curs with false pedigrees and thats your choice (not that im saying you do this) but others like to be told the truth . I myself have owned dogs that quit but never bred from them , i also owned a few that were the shittiest bred i saw but they themselves were game , they competed and won over better bred dogs but were never bred from . I could understand if what i was saying was untrue but usually one only needs to look on the end of the chains of those bitching to understand why the truth has a way of proving itself in the GAMEDOG game . What id like to know is how anyone can breed gamebred dogs out of dogs that quit and have false pedigrees , now i always thought you had to breed from your gamest dogs cull the curs or rehome them and maybe im wrong and three hundred years of gamedog history and understanding is wrong and people who knowingly breed of dogs with false pedigrees that are not gamebred are right , if you want to breed good looking pets that can chase a flirtpole or swing on a tire or hunt rabbits and ducks thats great i wish you every success , but dont try to tell me anything about GAMEDOGS unless youve owned conditioned and worked them and i dont mean chasing rabbits , i will listen all day to anyone who has a genuine knowledge of Gamedogs no matter how theyre bred have a great day and keep scratchin

 

jt it will be stupid in my deepest and honest opinion to even keep quitters. again your opinion means nothing unless two dogs are in front of each other, then their opinion matters not yours. i not only kept mims dogs but bolio/trap/boze and eli/carver/turtlebuster dogs. dont come here to tell me what is you think is a bunch of curs or aces, again theres only one way to prove it, and i'm not into fighting dogs. if you think i said chasing rabbits, yotes, wild boars and other critters is a test for gameness you are just a dumbass as i am for saying this. gameness is not something i need a lecture on, and you seem to repeat the same thing over and over. again, if "i" didnt feel happy with the staffords i have, i promise you i have access to bulldogs "i" consider worth their keep as well, even if they had Mears Mick, Stockades Mad Molly, Stockades Tara, Stockades Lioness, Jack the Ripper, Mad Dixie Lad, Brindle Mad Max and Jans boy.
