So Is there a big difference in how are dogs are kept, from a different cultures point of view?

I was reading a post i think it was one Limey Kennel mentioned , that there is a difference in the way we care and house our dogs compared to other cultures and areas of the world,

We have all heard that story about the gypsy's , and there care for that one dog, never had fresh water.....so on and so on...ended up rescued by another Dogman

Whats the difference in the way there kept in North America and Europe?

Well my opinion hell yeah theres a big difference, your dog can have the hold package if that dog kep is not A1, or his or her heath is shit or you treat them like shit that shit is not going to go right for you just my opinion:cool: P.S. Treat there heath like you would treat your kids heath

I think the conditions they're kept in are a lot cleaner/better here because of the laws and AC pressure. Gotta be on top of your shit.b

  6. i would agreed, and i would also say it comes down the the individuals morals.

i dont know about country to country but i know about the difference culture to culture. when i stumbled on the difference between an actually gamedog and what we grew up hunting with it was mind blowing. its easy to make fun of uneducated people but its in the streets and generation after generation is blind leading the blind. i wasnt into bullies every, i knew that wasnt a real apbt but still its still hard. We get in troulbe bc we think the dogs are invincible and dont give them the optimal care they deserve. i just always have spoiled my dogs and after a few years the animal control left me alone. i used to get it bad bc i was so young with so many pits. lost a couple but they were well trained, taken care of, and non aggressive plus when i got older i knew my rights a little better and was more vocal and fed up with their BS. BUCK, coming from how i grew up i can def say we take care of dogs a lot different than people in the game dog culture. I have a lot of people to thank for wha ti have been able to learn.

I hear you there, provide the best house possible, food possible, and a good work regime, and these dog with thank you up and down all day... they don't ask for much i figure, and they work hard as hell for us,

Just the way the story read, i thought that the way we raise our dogs was substandard, and i base my yards appearance off alot that i have seen on other yard , via pic's, or set-up's/ layouts.

just figured this was not the way they do it in Europe, (like they do it way better, or something, or do it differently, for them to view our dog husbandry like that.) I've seen plenty yards not much different then the traditional North American yards, over in Europe.
    (via pic's and websites)

only thing i noticed was they like the 10'x10' or 12'x12' kennels, 3/4's brick and front steel gates....

maybe how they care for there dogs like there warriors, instead of an income....

that's the only thing i could think of,...

I notice in North America, Canada too!!! That's why i keep saying "Noth America", you will find Blue and everything else labled as a pitbull,

and if you went over there, you'd be hard pressed to sell one of them hippo's to anyone as a Pit Bull,

but here dogs are viewed as income for the wrong reasons, not cause they won anything, its a pure cash crop, breed breed breed, peddle, peddle, peddle. It is probably the case everywhere in the world, and i just see it more casue its in our faces all the time.

the 3 Redboy/Frisco pups i bought a while back, there was no thought into that breeding, other than sticking one bulldog to another bulldog, hoping for good results, parents were not matched(i later found out) its all about money, no pride in to the line that they were hoping to produce, (i just got to hope that mine turn out like they should for dogs that come off those lines, but its a big shot in the dark buying some one else started project, with maybe some good chances of good dogs, if raised properly.....

but when you rush to get some well bred dogs, without looking in to the thought behind the breeding, and goal the breeder was trying to achieve, I just happen to run in to a smuck with good dogs, but he breed for Greed, and i hoping for some act of god, that they wll carry the heart there ancestors had, ,

I've looked and looked, can't find a frigging
Redboy/Frisco cross anywhere? , so it leads me to believe, it was pure greed an lies that bring these dogs down, as a breed.

this turned in to a rant sorry folks, thinking out loud again....
I've talked to good solid dog folk, and they say theres hope still for my 3 , but, when you know there was know thought put in to a breeding, expecilly with un matched animals, you take a big chance of having nothin at all, but time will tell....

but this is all just a guess, or theory i was thinkin about after i logged off last night..

It all depends on the individual dogman....I know some that are far from rich and there yards are spectacular to look at and very well maintained and that's without a yard boy.

I have seen both sides of the coin. Large yards with the best set ups and the only crap to be seen was a pile or two in one of about six puppy pens. Elaborate whelping rooms with heat and air and studs who looks liked they could miss a meal or three. Then there is the other side with somewhat under fed dogs who are not picked up after with crappy houses and bedding. The ones I have seen with good set ups were older more well known guys. The ones with bad conditions were beginners with the intention of peddling some pups.

I purchased these 4x8 weldwire modular kennels and stall mats
The kennels sell for $300 if you go thru northern tool and equipment and include roof system stall mats run about $70
Kennels are made of 9 gauge wire very strong 5'9"to the top of roof
Stall mats are the best way ive found to keep my dogs clean and dry(this louisiana weather makes it difficult)
I currently own 5 and have had no problems/here you see a couple but no stall mats but you get the idea

those would be nice for a litter of pups also, for $300, can't really go wrong,

add a 2' plywood wall around the inside for real small pups and your set, don't take up much room either,

ever had an adult get out of there, mine would crawl to the top and sqweeze out it I 'd think, anyway, I know Boris would be out that roof in no time, , but i guess at 9' they might not try it?

Yes Dozer climb out once but I bought 2 seperate panels and closed in the top none of the other dogs have tried.
I Bought 1/4in thick plexiglass and lined one for a welping box and small pups because the wire has 2"x2" openings and they can get their heads stuck(smoke color plexi)

I have been to about the same. I have always tried to keep everything nice clean and in some sort of order. Took a while to figure out that less is more sometimes, although I have never had what most would remotely consider a large yard. I have been to well thought out yards and yards in big cities where you couldn't believe there where that many dogs in the backyard behind a house (they were peddlers). From what I have seen in pics only is that the Europeans take housing more seriously and have a lot more invested in it but they also live in alot harsher climate than I do. I worry about heat stroke not a dog freezing. Also seems like people in other places may be more worried abotu keeping them under lock and key. Just my .02
