Good stuff - i use the Salmon and the fowl formulas - the fowl and beef on their own are very high protein for an everyday diet. I used to blend TOTW and Nutro, but when Nutro's prices jumped up the past year I switched altogether.

The Instinct and Prairie brands that QVO mentioned aren't bad.

njbulldog: Innova has Barley in it - that could be what your dog is allergic to. If my seal/black dog eats it, he will instantly start trying to eat grass, carpet, etc to throw up.

We use all the TOTW formulas. Have mixed it up between the three with no stomach upset at all. Although one of our dogs dookie is really stinky on the fish formula. Not that it smells good regularly or anything.

I have used it with good results...but it is a bit pricey. Although I am not a big fan of the regular Diamond food products, I do like their "naturals" lines and find them to be excellent foods and much more affordable than foods like TOTW. I use Diamond Naturals Extreme Athlete for adults and Diamond Naturals Large Breed Puppy Lamb and Rice for young dogs. I feed raw a good bit too.

  5. I feed this also but my dog never seems to have a firm stool on it. He gets plenty of exercise etc. Is it to much protein? I am using the High Praire. I have tried mixing in canned pumpking...tried cutting it with oatmeal...

He even had spouts of diarhea and went to the vet his stool is clear...but he gets bouts of colitus every now and then with mucus.

The vet gave him Hills Prescription w.d canned which is crap like all corn but it cleared hardened his stool right up.

Any suggestions? Should I go higher protein less filler or the other way?

I have owned a shit load of dogs and this guy has been going like this since day one...for like a year now...hes a rescue house dog...

how much do you guys pay for a 35 lb bag? think it was 60 where i looked but not sure. Also do most people use the wetlands? I was thinkin the others had to much protein as well plus it has more omega's to make that coat shine. My dogs are did good one the first type of diamond natural but i was experimenting and its turned all bad. Kinda just want to leave it alone...

idk about 35lb but a 30lb bag would run me about $43-45. I think most use that pacific stream but I used wetlands. Made the piss smell weird but other than that it was great. Pricey is all. I'm feeding the pup I have now Diamond Puppy in the purple bag. No complaints, cheap, shiny coat and firm stools.

I've tried all the flavors (well my dogs have) it's definitely a good food. I prefer Diamond Naturals Extreme Athlete though or raw. But I don't have any grain issues (other than I wouldn't feed a lot of it to a dog).

  16. I usually feed the bison formula but have switched it up when I can't get it, no issues going between formulas, best food I have found for the buck and finally found a local place that carries it! I pay $43 a bag.

EXCELLENT!! I have been feeding it for about 2 years now and have had no problems. I don't feed the wetlands one b/c i just don't like the whole bird diet for my dogs, but the high prairie and the pacific steam are great. i feed the high prairie to my younger ones and my bitch when she was pregnant and have had great results. keeps the weight on them and the pups that were born off my bitch looked better than any litter i have had before. In the winter months i switch them all over to the high prairie and mix in some brown rice. Does great! I live in Alabama and pay roughly $39 for a 30lb bag.
