Thought I would stop by and introduce myself.
I used to visit the site years ago. I raised bulldogs many years ago.
Quit in the mid 1980's. Had pretty good luck with the ones I owned.

Back then I ran mostly Colby dogs but had to go to an outcross after many years. Found out later the outcross was a better dog than what I had.

why did you feel the need for an out working with Colby dogs? theyve been successful for YEARS with no need. not bein an ass, just wanted to know. and without incriminating youself if thats the case, how was the out better?

I felt I needed an out because the dogs I had were very inbred. The quality wasn't what I wanted. Strength and bite was beginning to suffer. Also the number of culls was growing. I tried several outs and had some success but just never what I was looking for.

The dogs I chose for outs were outstanding dogs. Their confirmation, strength, bite, endurance, and quality was an improvement. I chose two dogs. One was a Ch. and the other was a Gr. Ch.

It never crossed my mind that you were being an ass. You just asked a question. The Colby dogs are great, it was more my fault for choosing the dogs in the first place. Other people had better luck than I did. I really can't blame the dogs. I was just starting out and didn't know really what I was doing. The same dogs probably would have been a lot better in the hands of a more experienced person.
