I first met that lady on news groups over 10 years ago, she was very nice to me when I was a new owner.

She isn't exactly loved on these forums because she is associated with the law and H$U$ because of her job and as a recognized subject matter expert who assist in raids. I think she was part of the wildside raid. In some cases she deemed dogs as unrecoverable, many folks around here disagreed.

In any event, what she does specifically for the dogs she works with and the breed overall is a great thing. Ironically, she trains police dogs and is dead set aginst anyone training the APBT to be human aggressive. I know the whole sport side of the argument and agree with it but her dogs aren't bitting a sleeve.

She's OK on my list but lets see how the rest of this thread turns out :-)

Nope, not 100% sure but I do know she has assisted on raids of APBT kennels.

I am about 80% sure wildside was one of those raids.

Has anyone read mike harlows book titled" k9 bodyguards"?? theres a chcpter or two about the american bulldog and the a.p.b.t. in regards to law enforcement and the use of the bully breed.

Oh....you mean that I think she is a good thing for the breed.

well when I knew her is all I am going by and she wasn't pro-bsl, she was very nice and helped me a lot. She had real good advice and was a positive source of information.

that was over 10 years ago, things might have changed.

I do find it ironic as well that she trains APBT's as K9's; police work is much different than Schutzhund in that the dogs are expected to really bite a person, and not just a sleeve... I see nothing wrong with Schutzhund the sport, but real protection/bite training for an APBT doesn't make much sense to me.

Anyone who strips dogs away from their owners for no damn reason and no real proof should never be ok with any true put lover.

Agreed. For that matter, a true human. If that has been her agenda for the last 10 years, my origional impression was wrong. It's not like I've been keeping up on her.

Make no mistake on how I feel about the H$U$, BSL or anything preventing people from owning Pitbulls or any other breed of dog they chose to feed under reasonable circumstances. Not only do I plan to own pits for life, there are a few other breeds on the BSL agenda that I am also currently considering. The Dogo is one I am starting to wonder how I have lived without :confused:

I train my pup for french ring sport, but even I am iffy about APBTs working as patrol apprehension dogs lol If I never told anyone or shared pictures, absolutely no one would know my pup even does bite work. That is just how little the average person knows about the sport, so it is virtually impossible that I am even negatively affecting the breed image... But if you have an APBT as a police dog, believe me, people will know!

I have thought it was an overall good book except he shows to many land of giant dogs.

I believe apbts working with cops is a good thing however i hate anyone i mean anyone who goes and fucks with another persons dogs now the only way id say it would be ok is if those dogs were being starved and had no shelter and what not but other wise i hate those kind of ppl
