Could be "perceived" as a lack of gameness by someone who didn't know any better. Same animal in the "correct" hands would scoot across on its belly if it came down to it. Could be "perceived" as an "increase" in gameness so to speak. I've met some ignoramuses in the dogs and some geniuses in the dogs. I'm only tryin to get you to consider that the dogs are "flesh and blood". Gameness is not an absolute. One that prooved "deep game" one day may prove to stand there in good shape his or her next time out. Or, one who stood for one owner at the 15min mark may prove dead game at the 3 and 1/2 hour mark for someone else. Just want you to consider the possibilities. There are no absolutes. Stop bangin your head. You'll mess up your "potential" modeling career.:D

Lol c-murder the only modelling i would be doing is for a bulldog chewing a wasp advert :D

I hear what your saying and of course,i agree 100% they are only flesh and blood, all comes down to the definition of what you believe gameness is i guess,i know you cannot add or take away from my take on gameness, yeah a dog may stop because of ill health,or it physically cannot cross.does that make a dog not game....i dont believe so but thats my spin on things....

DUH DUN NAH NAH! Jrouble to the rescue *tags out alabama* - sheesh I leave for half hour and you cop this bs, sorry man, you gotta message me when this is goin on so I don't leave you hanging or I feel like an ass.

Game - The natural affinity of a dog to want to succeed in any situation.

You cannot teach a natural affinity. They have it, or they don't, thats what alabama and I are trying to get through your heads.

Lets look at it in numbers.

    Test Pup
    Game - 60/100
    Wind - 70/100
    Mouth - 40/100
(lets leave it at that to keep it simple)

You give this pup to 2 guys, 1 is an experienced dogman, the other is a total novice with no idea.

    Test Pup (Novice)
    Game - 60/100
    Wind - 75/100
    Mouth - 50/100

Through conditioning and training, he increases the dogs wind and mouth a little bit, good for him.

    Test Pup (Dogman)
    Game - 60/100
    Wind - 100/100
    Mouth - 60/100
This guy feeds his dogs unbelievably well, uses all the fancy nancy supplements, conditions his dog to perfection, works on strengthening the jaw with various exercises yada yada.

THE GAMENESS OF THE DOG DOES NOT CHANGE... if you think a handler can change the gameness of a dog.

Please tell me what exercise, situation, diet, conditioning or circumstances lead to this - coz you'll make me so much fucking money I'll buy you TWO of whatever you want, right the now in advance.

Right, how does this sound guys, you can f*ck up a gamedog with ill health etc which will make a dog stop because it CANT continue not that it doesnt WANT to,you can condition a dog and maybe get a half hour more outta him....

BUT THE END RESULT IS STILL THE SAME,hes either GAME or not.theres nothing you can do to change that.....

You got two identical dogs, you train exactly the same way, feed the same way, everything about them is identical, only one is as game as they come, one isn't and just relies on the other attributes.

You put them in an identical situation against an unbeatable opponent every movement is identical. Who gives up first?

The dog that isn't game. Wind doesn't make a difference, strength doesn't make a difference, pain doesn't make a difference... everything is identical.

Except one dog will refuse to quit no matter what. Thats game. You can't teach that.

You can't teach a dog, or train it, to go until you pick it up. They either will, or they'll roll over give you them eyes, and tell you in their own way they're done and they wanna go home now.

i agree wit that.either the dog is born wit game or it's not.its like a person with speed. u cnt teach speed, either u have it or u dnt.u can run every freakn day it aint gnna give u speed.u'll just run slow for a longer period of time.the best dogman cnt teach a cur to be game.he can condition him to fullest feed him top quality food n give him all the supplaments in the world ,n when it come down to it he still wnt b game.

what about dog going 1 extra mile because handler vocally "motivates" him?

  12. Jrouble

    Jrouble Big Dog

Here's the problem with that... the dog wouldn't need to be motivated if it was game, it'd go til it passed out/was stopped/died.

To even need to motivate that dog, means he wanted to quit, and you had to urge him on to get him to go further. Game dogs, don't quit.

  13. alabama

    alabama Big Dog

Ok rhumble he goes one extra mile.......then stops.......SAME RESULT.....hes not game

A dog that is truly game, never quits, ever... he can have 2 busted legs and he'd still be dragging himself across on his belly. He doesn't know when to stop, stop is not a word that it understands, or even thinks about.

A truly game dog, either wins, passes out, or dies.

A dog that is game, never loses unless he gets picked up, or his handler has failed him coz he'll be dead or so badly hurt he no longer has control of his body.

who owns the dog and how it is raised can definitely affect the gameness of the dog. Also breeding the 2 gamest of dogs together without trying to match up or outcross their pedigree correctly can and will affect the outcome of the dogs coming from the breeding. Breeding best to best is way over rated!
